After a comprehensive search process, the hiring committee has selected Nick Corrigan as the next Principal of Oak Ridge High School. Mr. Corrigan will begin his term as Principal once he returns from his military leave in the Fall. Dr. Beth Fisher Estep will remain Interim Principal of Oak Ridge High School until he returns, then resume the role of Assistant Principal.
Mr. Brian Tinker, current Assistant Principal of Glenwood Elementary, has been named the Interim Principal of Robertsville Middle School, effective immediately.
Since joining Robertsville in 2022, Mr. Corrigan has created a culture of educational excellence, setting and achieving high expectations for both students and staff. Under his leadership, Robertsville has experienced unprecedented growth and student achievement. Prior to joining Robertsville, Mr. Corrigan held the position of Dean of Students at Jefferson Middle School for one year after serving as a middle school teacher in Tennessee for ten years.
“The decision to leave Robertsville is certainly bittersweet–I would not be the leader, educator or person I am today without the support of the incredible staff and community of Robertsville,” said Corrigan. “With that said, I am excited to serve the students of Oak Ridge Schools in a broader capacity and support many of the students I served during my time at the middle schools as they continue their academic careers. All of our students pass through Oak Ridge High School and it is an honor and a privilege to provide an exceptional learning experience for them as they prepare for their post-secondary lives.”
“We are fortunate to have amazing educators and leaders in Oak Ridge Schools who are committed to doing what’s best for students in our district,” said Dr. Bruce Borchers, Superintendent of Oak Ridge Schools. “Nick brings proven leadership and dedication to service to Oak Ridge High School. Under his leadership, our students, staff, and families will continue to thrive, and I look forward to the positive impact he will make in this important role.”
“Having worked closely with Mr. Corrigan at Jefferson and Robertsville Middle Schools, I have witnessed firsthand the proven leadership and integrity Nick brings to everything he does,” said Jen Laurendine, Executive Director of Oak Ridge Schools. “We’re fortunate to have someone of his caliber leading our school community.”
Mr. Brian Tinker joined Oak Ridge Schools in 2022 as the Dean of Jefferson Middle School before accepting the Assistant Principal position at Glenwood Elementary. Previously, he was an Assistant Principal of John Sevier Elementary in Maryville after serving as a classroom teacher in that district for eight years. Brian brings a keen understanding of curriculum, accountability, and proven leadership required to continue the incredible momentum that Mr. Corrigan and Ms. Free have created during their time at Robertsville.
“I am thrilled to welcome Mr. Tinker to Robertsville Middle School and work alongside him in the years ahead,” said Christy Free, Assistant Principal at Robertsville Middle School. “Mr. Tinker prioritizes building relationships with colleagues, students, and families, and values the connections that strengthen our entire school community. Brian’s deep understanding of educational excellence, combined with the strong roots he has already established in Oak Ridge, positions him perfectly to lead our school. I couldn’t be more excited about the bright future for all Rams under his leadership.”
“I am honored and excited to serve as Interim Principal of Robertsville Middle School,” said Tinker. “I have long admired the culture that Mr. Corrigan and Ms. Free cultivated there and am excited to work alongside the dedicated educators, engaged families, and amazing students who make RMS the special place it is. I look forward to building upon the strong foundation already in place and working together to create an environment where every student can reach their full potential.”
The position of Assistant Principal of Glenwood Elementary will be posted immediately.
