Semifinalists

Oak Ridge High School is excited to announce that four of our students are National Merit Semifinalists this year!  We are proud of these academically talented seniors.  They are now eligible to continue in the National Merit Scholarship competition for 7,600 scholarships worth more than $31 million. Over 1.5 million students entered the competition.  The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing fewer than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest scoring entrants in each state. Our ORHS semifinalists include Kevin Li, Jordan Osbourne, Levi Parish, and Elijah Welton.

Commended Scholars

Two ORHS students have been named National Merit Commended Scholars and they are being recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Over 1.5 million students took the test and entered the scholarship competition. National Merit Scholarship Corporation identifies the top 50,000 highest scores.  The top 16,000 high school seniors are recognized as Semifinalists, and the additional 34,000 are recognized as Commended Scholars. Our ORHS Commended Scholars are Daniel Joy and Brigitte Turner.
