Mission

The Application & Data Services team is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and development of all non-Microsoft applications as well as the development, implementation, and electronic transfer of state and federal required student information. It is our goal to provide the ORS staff and students with the software packages they need to enhance student learning, increase productivity, provide integration between software packages to decrease redundant data entry and insure data integrity while complying with state and federal data mandates.

Software that we support:

Student Management Applications

Student Management applications are used to store and disseminate demographic data, data used to track the educational growth of a student, as well as student scheduling, assignments, and any special requirements necessary to optimize the student’s learning environment.

Skyward Student Management Suite
Skyward is the student information system Oak Ridge schools uses to collect, store and report all student demographic, attendance, discipline, and grade data. It also serves as the point of sale solution for food services.

Canvas Learning Management System
Canvas is the Learning Management System used by teachers to provide digital access to classroom material and collaboration.

EdPlan
EdPlan is the Special Education Management software used to store and track student IEP (Individualized Education Program) information.

Classroom Applications

Classroom applications are used by teachers to assess, enhance, and/or remediate skills being taught to students.

Discovery Education
Discovery Education provides digital content to students on a wide range of education topics.

Aimsweb
Aimsweb is a universal screener used to perform benchmark assessments on their reading levels and monitor their learning progress.

Dreambox
Dreambox is adaptive formative assessment software that is used to enrich and remediate math skills for students in grades PK-5.

Tenmarks
Tenmarks is adaptive formative assessment software that is used to enrich and remediate math skills for students in grades 4-12.

STAR
STAR is adaptive assessment software that is used to evaluate math and reading skills for students in grades 8-12.

MyON
MyON is a literary program for students in grades K-12 with over 10,000 enhanced digital books that evaluates a students reading ability and creates a dynamic recommendation list of books based on the students level and interest.

GradeCam
GradeCam is used to create answer sheets, score, and record student tests.

Big Ideas Math
Big Ideas Math is complete mathematics curriculum for Middle and High Schools.

i-Ready
i-Ready is adaptive growth measure and diagnostic software in math and reading for Elementary and Middle School students.

Keyboarding Without Tears
Keyboarding Without Tears teaches keyboarding foundational skills for Elementary students.

MobyMax 
MobyMax is adaptive enrichment and remediation software for K-8 in Math, Reading, and Science.

Edgenuity is an online intervention program used for High School credit recovery.

SpringBoard is a professional learning system used to enhance instruction in reading and mathematics for grades 5-8.

OnTRAC
OnTRAC is an assessment an analytics package used to track student progress.

Business Support Applications

Business Support applications are used to conduct the daily business of the Oak Ridge Schools.

Skyward Business Suite
Skyward is the Financial and HR system Oak Ridge schools uses to collect store and report all employee information as well as budgeting, accounts receiving, accounts payable, and payroll.

Skylert
Skylert is Skywards integrated and branded version of School Messenger which Oak Ridge Schools uses as our mass communications tool. It allows the district to send out alert message via phone, email, and text in the event of an emergency such as snow or ice as well as general messages about community events and even take surveys. The schools also use Skylert to send out messages regarding food service balances, absences, and community events.

Destiny Library System
Destiny is the Library system Oak Ridge schools uses to inventory and circulate books and media to students and staff.

Optiview 
Optiview is a Document Management system that converts paper forms and documents into a digital format for distribution, storage, redaction, and archival. Optiview also integrates directly with Skyward for quick indexing and retrieval.

Aesop is a substitute teacher placement program used to request, assign, and track substitutes.

KeepNTrack
KeepNTrack is the check-in system used by the schools to approve and track visitors in the buildings.

Clever
Clever is used to provide single sign-on access to a variety of educational software utilized by the district as well as syncing roster information between the student management system and the educational software.

Lynda
Lynda is used to provide staff with online technology training via video courses in a wide variety of subjects.

SafeSchools
SafeSchools is used to provide staff with online safety training via video courses as well as track compliance with safety training policies.

MyLearningPlan
MylearningPlan is used to schedule, approve, and track professional development for staff.

State and Federal Compliance Applications

State and Federal Compliance applications are provided by the Department of Education to be used in conjunction with the District’s Student Management System to provide the State with the data necessary for compliance with State and Federal laws.

EIS
EIS is the Education Information System used by the State Department to store and report student data necessary for State and Federal reporting requirements and funding calculations.

EdFi 
EdFi is the data warehouse and dashboard solution used by the State Department to provide teachers and administrators relevant student data to make.
