The Tennessee State Organization (TNSO) is proud to announce that Dr. Elaine Vaughan will serve as president for the 2021-2023 biennium. Vaughan has an extensive service record at the chapter,

state, and international levels. A 14-year member of Delta Kappa Gamma (Alpha Epsilon chapter in Oak Ridge), Vaughan has served as chapter president, treasurer, and on chapter membership, finance, strategic plan, and new teacher outlook committees.

At the state level, Vaughan has previously served as TNSO First Vice-President and TNSO Corresponding Secretary. She has chaired the state Educational Excellence Committee, Special Events Committee, Vision Foundation Board, and is a Visionary for the State Organization. She is a graduate of the Tennessee State Beginning Leadership Management Seminar and the Advanced Leadership Management Seminar.

Vaughan has attended international conventions in Nashville and Austin and international conferences in Myrtle Beach and Asheville. She is a recipient of a DKG International scholarship as well as a TNSO scholarship. She is a graduate of the Golden Gift Leadership Management Seminar and is a DKG International Educators Foundation Luminary.

Twenty-four years of Dr. Vaughanā€™s 31-career in education have been spent in her current position at Oak Ridge High School, Oak Ridge Tennessee. She is a mathematics instructor of Dual Enrollment and State Dual Credit Precalculus and Algebra 1, mentor for interns with the Education Department at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and serves on the Culture and Climate Committee at the high school. Vaughan has also been honored with the 2015 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, the 2016 University of Tennessee Alumni Graduate Award, a 2018 National STEM Ambassador, and a 2019 TCAP Content Ambassador.
