  • Employability/ work readiness training

Service Learning Projects

Two Service Learning groups consisting of 20 students in the Academy are working hard to develop a student Library. Many of our students do not have access to a Library for their leisure reading interests, so the students have been organizing book donations, book trades at Mr. K’s, and fund raising to build the Library collection. Students have been participating in the planning, shopping and cooking of meals that staff members purchase for Wednesday lunches. Some of the menus have been loaded baked potatoes, fresh salad and homemade banana pudding, baked ziti with garlic bread and salad, as well as homemade soups with bread and cookies for dessert. So far, the students have raised $90.00 to help fund much needed resources such as bookshelves, bookends and books.
