Man, this second semester is moving quickly. In 5 weeks we are at Spring break!?! But since time is moving quickly, so must we. Your students are learning and our teachers are breaking out all the stops to help them.
It has been a while since we have been on a regular schedule. Lots of great instruction is planned for this week-- be sure to ask your students about it!
We hope that you will be staying warm in the week to come, as temperatures will drop significantly. Your Admin team will be out front, but we will quickly get your students indoors. Our building is warm, BUT please check with your students on their wardrobe. In the event of a fire alarm evacuation, they will be quite cold.
We hope everyone got some good sledding and snowman building in. We are in for a busy week. Your Jefferson team has hit the ground running and are busy planning and instructing. With a basketball game, the Spelling Bee, the First Lego League Atomic Opening and much more this week.
We are here to help them grow and succeed, with your vital support. If you or your student needs anything, REACH OUT to your teachers. Use Parent Square or email. Make a phone call to the building, and we will send you to teacher voicemails for them to respond to later. The partnership between parents and teachers are what drive our students to great success.
As always in the last week before end of term, we ask that you have a good conversation with your students about expectations for the academics and behaviors. Our dress code remains the same, and our expectation for student behavior remains the same. We have lots of wrap up activities planned this week, but that doesn't change how we run school. But that being said, we have had a fantastic second term. We couldn't be more pleased with the academic progress your students have been making.
With two weeks remaining before the Winter Break, we start Benchmarks this week. As a reminder, these assessments are FORMATIVE. They help us make plans for remediation, intervention, and acceleration. It helps students make goals for their own learning, which is something we have been working on this year and will address in a big way in January.
We have three weeks until the end of term. We will start Benchmark testing next week in some classes. Please help keep your student going strong. We are nearly halfway through the school year and we have done so very much.
We are thankful for our students, through good days and hard days, to join us in exploring their potential and growing to become young adults.
