Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin
STUDENT INFO
All students and families are invited to attend the annual college and career fair in the Wildcat Arena on Monday, September 22, from 5pm-6:30pm.
We are also encouraging all students to wear college, career or military shirts next week as we celebrate college month.
Attention AP Students: The Fall AP payment window is now open and closes on Friday, October 31st at 11:59pm for all students currently enrolled in a fall or yearlong AP course. If you begin your AP course in January, you will pay in the spring. This year all AP exams are $102. The link to register and pay is available to all AP students via Parent/Student Square.
Soccer Club of Oak Ridge is looking for several volunteers on September 20/21st to support the large soccer tournament. If you are interested, the form to fill out is in the iNews as well as grade level Canvas pages.
The latest colleges that will be visiting us, after school in Counseling are:
Pellissippi State on Thursday the 18th
And Queens University of Charlotte on Tuesday the 23rd.
If you are curious about any of these schools, it makes a big impression on admissions representatives when you stop by!
Anyone looking to get extra help preparing for the ACT test can sign up for the ACT Boot Camp, which will be held on the first four days of Fall Break, September 29 to October 2. Sessions will be from 8-11 a.m. in the amphitheater. Each day focuses on a different section of the test. This opportunity is free, but transportation will not be provided, and lunch will not be served. Sign up links are in the class Canvas pages, the iNews, and have been sent through ParentSquare. Please sign up by Friday, Sept. 19. If you have any questions, see Mr. Stebbins in CS339 or Dr. Fisher.
Students- Do you want to be featured in the yearbook? The Oak Log is looking to feature YOU and your life here at Oak Ridge High School. Any photos are acceptable, but we are currently looking for photos of Summer Jobs, Juneteenth, Father’s Day, and Summer Sports. To submit photos, search “Jostens Photo Share” and click the first link. Enter your school’s name and share your experiences with us. Remember, the more the merrier!
Juniors & Seniors with off campus lunch can walk over to First United Methodist Church every Thursday for lunch.
Enrollment is OPEN to experience Ireland and Scotland in June of 2027!!! Lock in one of the remaining spots available and the best possible price by enrolling by September 26th. Highlights of the trip include: Dublin, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Trinity College Library & the Book of Kells, Belfast, Castle of Edinburgh, Royal Mile, The Highlands, and Loch Ness (yes, THE Loch Ness). Tomorrow is the day to continue your journey into the realms of fantasy! The Dungeons and Dragons Club is ready to welcome you for another exciting session of adventure and imagination.
We meet every Friday from 3:15 PM to 4:30 PM at The Mythic Forge in Dr. Denisar’s room CS329
FCA will meet on Friday morning, September 19th, at 7:00 AM!! We will meet at Grace Baptist-Oak Ridge Campus (formerly Central Baptist) – directly across the street from the bus loop and arena at the high school. Doors open and refreshments begin at 7:00, and a message will begin at approximately 7:10. We will be dismissed by 7:35. All are welcome!!! Submit designs for the 2026 Senior Signature shirt by September 18 to Mrs. Ledden in CS347 or to tledden@ortn.edu. Prizes totaling $50 for front and back.
Scholarship Opportunity! Seniors interested in applying for the DAR Good Citizens Scholarship should see Ms. Ragan, no later than September 24th!! This scholarship ranges from $500 local to $10,000 national level awards.
