Please join us on May 4th from 4-5pm in the Main Lobby as we celebrate the art accomplishments of our senior art students. (M,T,Th) – G. Schrock

There will be a girls soccer interest meeting for the summer/fall 2022 season –TODAY May 3 and Friday May 13 for those that are planning to try out/play on the ORHS girls soccer team. This meeting is for current students enrolled at ORHS.  The meetings will begin at 3:45 pm at the Food Court upper level.  Parents are encouraged to attend if possible. Coach Green will be there to answer any questions and will have information/paperwork for the tryouts and upcoming season. Calling All  Orchestra Alumni, Students, Teachers and Staff!  Lets pack the house May 5th @ 7pm showing support to our Very Own East Tennessee PREMIERE HIGH SCHOOL ORCHESTRA and to show Dr. Phillips our support for his years of dedication to the ORHS Orchestra program.  This will be Dr. Phillips last concert as the ORHS Orchestra conductor. He will move to support the JMS program as we continue to grow our program in Oak Ridge Schools.  (M, Tu, Th)

TnPromise Opportunities

SENIORS LISTEN UP!  This announcement is worth about $10,000.   Are you planning to use the TnPromise Scholarship??  If so, Mrs. Thompson has sent all eligible seniors an email to provide you an update regarding your community service hours.  It is important all seniors using the TNPromise read the email sent to you on Monday.  Failure to complete 8 hours of community service by July 1, 2022 will permanently forfeit your TnPromise eligibility.  If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Thompson at sathompson@ortn.edu (M,W,F) – S. Robertsville Middle School will host their STEM night on May 19th.  Volunteers are needed from 4:30 – 8:00 pm.  A form has been sent to seniors’ ortn.edu email with a link to sign up to volunteer.  The due date to sign up is May 16th.  Underclassmen are welcome to email Mrs. Thompson at sathompson@ortn.edu if you want to volunteer. JUNIOR INFORMATION

Juniors registered for the Business Academy Work-Based Learning (Co-op) program for 22-23 should attend the mandatory meeting after school on Tuesday, May 3, in CS347. The meeting will last approximately 45 minutes. (Tu) T. Ledden

SENIOR INFORMATION

Seniors: if you would like to purchase an extra tassel, they are available from Mrs. Ledden in CS347–$10. (Tu,Th) – T. Ledden

Seniors: if you have taken Business Academy courses but currently do not have a Business class, please see Mrs. Ledden in CS347 for a Rotary Scholarship application. (F & Tu) – T. Ledden

SCHOLARSHIP  INFORMATION

Are you planning to study computer science, technology or engineering? This scholarship from Perlego may be for you! The applications for 2022 opened April 18th and the deadline is August 20, 2022.  Details have been sent to seniors ortn.edu email address.  Please see Mrs. Thompson if you have questions. (T,Th)

The Mitsui USA Foundation Scholarship has announced $5,000 scholarship for students who will be freshman in the Fall of 2022 and are attending the following universities: any school in the UT System, Austin Peay, ETSU, MTSU, TN State, TN Tech, University of Memphis.  Four scholarships will be awarded.  Eligibility guidelines, application materials and selection criteria are available in the iNews.  The application is due May 31st!   See Mrs. Thompson if you have any questions.
