Final Exam Schedule and Check Out Information

Monday, June 1st and Tuesday, June 2nd are spring semester exam days (See schedule below and attached).  Students may leave school following their exams each day with parent permission. You may submit your permission electronically using this form: Final Exam Checkout Permission Form Spring 2026 – Fill out form. (If you prefer a paper note, your child will bring home a paper for you to complete later this week)

Please only submit using one method, paper or electronic. 

No phone calls will be accepted for check out on Monday and Tuesday. Parents must submit the written form or the electronic form for their child to be allowed to leave early.

Afternoon buses will run at approximately 11:45 on Monday. Buses will run on a regular Wednesday schedule on Tuesday. Lunch will be served both days. Morning buses will run at regular time. Students must return laptops before leaving for the summer. We will be taking these up during the 5th block on Tuesday. Please make sure that your child has their device, charger, and bag to return.

STUDENT INFO

Final Exams will be on June 1st and 2nd. All classes will give a final exam. There will NOT be a makeup day. If you miss the exam, it will be counted as zero. Students may check out after exams with a parent note only. No check out phone calls will be accepted on exam days.

Do you want to tour Nissan Stadium before it’s torn down? Host a German and come with us on our overnight trip to Nashville! We need 15 more hosts for our friends who are arriving on September 10th and staying for 2 weeks. See Mr. Kolodney in CS 213 for more information.

Are you interested in wildlife in our area?  Come hear Dr. Matt Allender, a wildlife veterinarian, talk about everything from turtles to penguins.   He will be speaking at Roane State’s Oak Ridge Campus in the city room from 6-7:15pm on June 5th.   See Mrs. Sluss in LC 104 for amazing details.

Returning a library book is technically an act of community service. You could put that on a college application. Just saying.

CLUB INFO

 Oak Ridge High School has officially started its own National Technical Honors Society Chapter!

If you are in any CTE clubs, classes, or programs, feel free to apply! Applications close at the beginning of next year. For more information about NTHS, find a poster around the school or email Mr. Jackson at  kjackson@ortn.edu.

 

Hallo und Willkommen to the German Club, we will celebrate the end of our school club year with cookies and ice cream.We will listen to the songs of the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest participants and discuss future plans for German club.Where? ATHLETICS.

Football players are selling tickets for their Aubrey’s Pancake Breakfast that will be on Saturday, June 6. Cost:   $5.00. Time:   8:00 am – 10:00 AM.  Place: Aubrey’s Oak Ridge.  Get your ticket from a football player this week before they’re gone.

Anyone interested in running cross country for the 2026-2027 school year, there will be an interest meeting this Thursday, May 28th in LC 326 immediately after school
