Level Up Your Library: Join the Steering Committee!

Want a real say in making our library the place to be? We’re looking for passionate and creative students to join our Library Steering Committee!

This isn’t your grandma’s book club. You’ll be taking charge and shaping the future of your library. As part of the team, you’ll get to:

Help us pick out the latest books and makerspace supplies.

Plan epic events.

Share ideas to make the library more comfortable and engaging.

We’ll meet during 3A/3B every day. Your study hall will change to the library, and you will still get a lunch period.  Interested? Stop by the library and talk to Mrs. Milloway by Friday.

 

All ORHS students are invited to the 5th annual Back to School Bash hosted by Wildcats for Change on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 5pm-7pm at the soccer field and in the cafeteria.  We will have field games, tug of war, kick ball, a taco truck and snow biz on site.  Come out and socialize with your peers and staff!

 

Any CCTE senior student in Business, Information Technology, or Welding who is interested in an off-campus paid Work-Based Learning placement, please see Mrs. Ledden in CS347 as soon as possible.

 

Picture day for all 9th-11th graders and faculty and staff will be this Friday, August 1st in the auditorium.  You can order pictures either before or after picture day, however all cash or check orders need to be turned into the photographer on Picture Day.  To order photos, go to mylifetouch.com.  You can either log in, create an account, or click on continue as guest and type in our school code: EVTHPV73P.  This information can also be found on Parent Square.  Please see or email Mrs. Pryfogle with any questions.

 

 

CLUB INFO

The application window for students who wish to join the National Honor Society is now open through Friday, August 15th. To be eligible, you must be a SENIOR with a 3.8 weighted GPA. You can find the link to the application in your Class of 2026 Canvas page or the iNEWS. If you have any questions, please see Dr. Thomas or Mr. Feuer.

 

FCA will meet Friday morning, August 1st, at 7:10 AM at Providence House across the street from the high school!  Doors open and refreshments begin at 7:00, and a message will begin at approximately 7:10.  We will dismiss by 7:35.  All are welcome!!!  If you have any questions, contact Coach McKeethan (football/baseball coach).

 

Masquers, the ORHS Theatre Club, is having an informational meeting after school TODAY! If you are interested in any area of Masquers – acting, costumes, props, running sound or lights, or working backstage building sets or running deck crew, we want to talk to you! After our 30-45 minute general meeting we will have an audition workshop where you can hear from Amy Uptgraft our fall play director about how you can prepare for the upcoming audition for our fall play, The Giver. Auditions will be help on Monday, August 4th. You must use our audition monologues, sign-up for an audition slot, and fill out the audition form to bring to auditions. We can’t wait to see familiar and new faces TODAY after school in the auditorium.

 

 

Apply to be on the Youth Advisory Board! As a member of YAB, you’ll act as a liaison between Oak Ridge City Council and the youth of the city to act on issues that affect you.  YAB meets 1-2 times a month on Wednesdays to discuss topics, plan events and develop ideas to help you and your peers grow culturally & socially.  The YAB is involved in many of the City’s events including Halloween, Atomic Fall Fest, children’s holiday breakfast, Egg Hunt, Art in the Park, and you will have the opportunity to take a trip to Nashville for leadership development.

Tomorrow is the day to continue your journey into the realms of fantasy! The Dungeons and Dragons Club is ready to welcome you for another exciting session of adventure and imagination.

We meet every Friday from 3:15 PM to 4:30 PM at The Mythic Forge in Dr. Denisar’s room CS329

Every week, our gatherings are packed with thrilling quests, epic role-playing, and creative challenges. Whether you’re a master of spells, a brave warrior, or a cunning rogue, there’s always something new to explore and discover.

 

 

SENIORS

 

A new day begins with the beauty of a Sunrise, reminding us of all the possibilities ahead. Seniors, please join your classmates this Friday to start your Last First Friday of High School. Be at the Soccer Field at 6:15 to watch the Sunrise as we kick off our SENIOR YEAR!
