It’s Powderpuff Week! Please join us this Friday May 13th for the second annual powderpuff games at Blankenship Field. Gates open at 5pm, and the first game will begin at 5:30. On Friday, May 13, yearbooks will be distributed in the B-Gym during a first period assembly schedule. You will be dismissed by announcement to pick up your book if you already ordered one, or you may purchase a book for $85, cash only, during that time. Only 60 books remain for purchase, and books are likely to sell out. Once they sell out, they are gone for good.  (M-Th 5.9-12) R. Hale

There will be a mandatory meeting for all Convocation Ushers with Madame Barry right after school on Thursday, May 12th in the Performing Arts Center (Auditorium) to discuss duties and practice before the Senior Breakfast on Monday, May 16th. Mark your calendars –  The ORS Free Sports Physical Clinic date has been set for Sunday, May 22 in the Wildcat Arena –  from 1:00 – 3:00.  All Sports Information and Permission Forms must be entered on-line after April 16 at the following link:

In addition to the Free Sports Physical Clinic on Sunday, May 22,  The Norris-Clinton Urgent Care Clinic will be offering FREE sports physicals at their facility in Clinton, across from Anderson County High School, through the month of May.  Students can pick up a physical form from the Main Office to take with them for completion. There will be one more girls soccer interest meeting for the summer/fall 2022 season –Friday May 13 for those that are planning to try out/play on the ORHS girls soccer team. This meeting is for current students enrolled at ORHS.  The meeting will begin at 3:45 pm at the Food Court upper level.  Parents are encouraged to attend if possible. Coach Green will be there to answer any questions and will have information/paperwork for the tryouts and upcoming season. This summer, ORNL is excited to host SAGE (Science Accelerating Girls’ Engagement) Summer Camp, a weeklong program for rising 10th-12th grade girls to explore STEM possibilities for their futures. It will be held at AMSE June 13-17. Please share this opportunity with high school STEM teachers and students. More information and link to the application can be found at stem.ornl.gov/SAGE. Seniors:  For those of you who want to exercise your right to vote, next Monday at the Senior Breakfast you will have the opportunity IF -you are a resident of the US and TN

The League of Women Voters will be passing out applications to register to vote and checking out the accuracy before taking the applications to the Election Commissioner in the Clinton Courthouse.  The high school’s League of Young Voters will be assisting the LWV. (W-F) – A. Roberts

 

SENIORS LISTEN UP!  This announcement is worth about $10,000.   Are you planning to use the TnPromise Scholarship??  If so, Mrs. Thompson has sent all eligible seniors an email to provide you an update regarding your community service hours.  It is important all seniors using the TNPromise read the email sent to you on Monday.  Failure to complete 8 hours of community service by July 1, 2022 will permanently forfeit your TnPromise eligibility.  If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Thompson at sathompson@ortn.edu (M,W,F) – S. ORHS Sports Tryout Info & Events

 

 

The 2022-2023 ORHS Boys Basketball Try Outs will be held Thursday, May 19 & Friday, May 20 from 3:30-5:00pm.  This will be the only tryout dates for this upcoming season so if you cannot attend you will need to go see Coach Green prior to tryouts. (W, F – 5.18) – A. Green
