Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

 

Lost and Found-If you have lost anything thing, Coats, keys, cups, coats, jewelry, glasses, shirts, etc.  Please come by the Attendance office and check to see if it has been turned in.  We will be donating it during the Holiday Break.  (12/10, 12/13, 12/20) – C. Wilson

 

Any student planning on getting their learning permit over the Holiday Break please stop by Attendance to fill out the form to get your SF10-10 people that you will need.  Friday the 21st will be the last day to get one over the break.   (M,W, Th) – C. Wilson

 

Don’t make the right jolly old elf angry!  Santa will be in the ORHS library Friday morning before school to check on you.   You already know he loves cookies, but did you know he also loves kids who read?  Stay off that naughty list – browse the new book section or your favorite genre to check out books that will get you through break AND help keep the twinkle in Santa’s eyes. ACT Prep Class: ORHS teachers will hold two ACT Prep sessions on Wednesday, January 9. Sessions will run from 2:15-3:00, and from 3:15-4:00. ACT English in Amphitheatre (with Ginger Flanders and Allen Etheridge), ACT Math in LC 326 (with Tom Froning), and ACT Science in  LC 327 (with Sharon Thomas). Please bring a copy of your Analyze-Ed score report. Look for more information in iNews. (12.20) A. Etheridge

 

Students, now is the time to order your yearbook if you have not done so already.  On January 1, prices go up to $80.  Remember, you can grab a form outside of Mrs. Byrd’s room, CS328, and turn a check in to her, or you can order online at Balfour.com.  Don’t miss out!  Only 250 yearbooks remain of the 700 ordered! It’s so hard to say goodbye, but give it a try.  Mr. Hickman is retiring at the end of this term. Please come up to the third floor and post a favorite memory or goodbye message on the bulletin board outside his room. Attention juniors and seniors:

Don’t forget about Career Pathways.  Applicants must be available to work afterschool, some weekends, and over spring break starting January 22nd.  Applications are available in Student Services and are due back by this Friday, December 21st.  For more information, contact Ms. Roberts.  (12.19-21) A. CLUB INFO

 

Anime Club will be cancelled this Thursday, 12/20.  We will resume meeting after winter break.  See you then! (Th) – H. Lintz

 

Ski Club Trips will start immediately after the winter holiday break.  Pick up trip forms from Ms. Sobek (LC217) or Ms. Stevens(CS 237).  The second Saturday in January we will be skiing and snowboarding at Sugar Mountain Ski Resort in NC.  Join the Remind group by texting @orhssk to 81010 (Tu, Th 12.20)     D. The YuGi-Oh! Club will NOT meet on Friday after school due to early dismissal. We will meet on Thursday in Dr. Colquitt’s room, CS 235, for any club members who can stay. Bring your cards and be ready to duel until 6 pm!  (12/20-12/21) – R. Colquitt

 

 

COUNSELING INFO

 

PSAT scores are in! Check your email for your individual score report access. Be sure you’re checking the email that you provided when taking the test. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Morris in the Counseling Office. (F) – A. Morris

 

The Boys and Girls Club is looking for 11th and 12th graders who would be interested in volunteering as tutors. Students applicants need to be responsible and willing to help with reading, writing, math and science. Seniors, if you volunteer, this could count toward your community service for the TN Promise Scholarship. If interested, please contact Mr. Lanny Frazier at ffzar@comcast.net. (T/Th 12/21) – B. ATHLETICS THIS WEEK

 

It’s not too late to get your Student Athletic Pass.   Passes are only $45 and will get you into every home regular season athletic event without ever having to buy another ticket.  Passes are on sale in the Athletic Office.  (Tu, Th 12.20)  T. Seals

 

ORHS Girls Basketball Team will be playing in the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix this week. GO CATS.
