STUDENT INFO

Anyone looking to get extra help preparing for the ACT can sign up for the ACT Boot Camp, which will be held from 8-11 a.m. on Monday, September 28 through Thursday, October 1. Each day will focus on a different section of the test. Tips and strategies will be discussed, and students will have a chance to take a practice test and have specific questions answered. This opportunity is free, but transportation will not be provided. A link to sign-up is in the iNews and ParentSquare. Please sign up by Wednesday, September 23. See Dr. Fisher or Mr. Stebbins if you have additional questions.

Students –  You can still buy your Student Athletic Passes for $60.  Even though we’ve had 2 home football games, 3 Soccer games and 5 Volleyball matches,  you will still save over $300 for all home athletic events, excluding play-off games & tournaments.  There are still 14 home events for Football V, JV, Fr, Volleyball and Cross Country that you can attend and not have to pay to enter.  And basketball, wrestling and swimming are right around the corner. SAPs are on sale in the Main Office.  Get yours today!

This Wednesday, September 16, will be Picture Day for Makeup Pictures or Retake Pictures in the b-gym.  This will be for 9^th through 11^th graders as well as faculty and staff.  Note: this is NOT for seniors.  Please make sure you get your picture taken on this day if you have not already done so and are a freshmen, sophomore, junior, or staff member.  Teachers with 5^th block planning should go at the very beginning of the period.

If you’ve always wanted a place in the spotlight, now is your chance! Masquers is having auditions for our Fall Showcase on Monday, September 21 and Tuesday, September 22. Juniors and seniors are invited to walk over to Grace Baptist Church for lunch every Tuesday!  For just $5, you’ll get a meal and drink from a rotating lineup of local favorites like Chick-fil-A, Buddy’s Bar-B-Q, Panda Express, Salsarita’s, and more. Grab some friends and join us every Tuesday for Lunch at Grace!

Do you want to learn how to get involved in Student Council while representing the student body and helping Oak Ridge High School become a better place? Student Council is holding a Schoolwide Student Council meeting during 2nd period in the amphitheater on September 17th. This meeting is for 2nd Period Representatives for their 2nd block class. Be ready with ideas to make the ORHS environment a better place. Remember, anyone can make a difference!

Bonjour! French Club-mark your calendars for next Thursday, September 24^th! It is pastries and pétanque time!  We will meet in Madame Barry’s room CS 307 first and then learn to play pétanque outside! Bring a pastry or snack to share if you can!  Merci!

HOSA, our September meeting is this Wednesday at 2p in CS-200. We’ll be finalizing competitions, discussing upcoming service projects & voting on our t-shirt. See you there!

Those students wishing to join FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) should attend the meeting after school tomorrow in CS347 and bring the parent permission form if not already turned in.

T minus 8 hours and counting! Everyone is invited to witness the power and glory of the Oak Ridge Rocket Club’s first fall launch date. Join us on the field next to the tennis courts starting at 3:30.

Rocket club members report to Ms Fairfax’s room immediately after school to pick up your rockets help move equipment to the launch site.  Don’t miss it- We’re going to have a blast!

SENIORS

Seniors and teachers of seniors: We will have the panoramic senior group photo on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 16.  Seniors will be called out of class to the wildcat arena around 1:25 and will be dismissed for the day from the arena.

Seniors: pick up a graduation supplies packet from the Jostens reps as you enter the Arena for the senior picture tomorrow!

Seniors: it’s time to submit your signature for the Class of 2027 Senior Signature Shirt! Go to the Class of 2027 Canvas page and Click on Assignments to find the assignment with instructions for submitting your signature.
