Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

 

STUDENT INFO

 

This is an invitation to ALL STUDENTS, FACULTY, FAMILIES AND FRIENDS to attend our FREE ORHS Band Concert this Thursday at 7 PM in the PAC. The directors have about an hour long MOVIE THEME program to enjoy. The award-winning Indoor Percussion Ensemble will open with a performance of their competitive music – “When the Forest Calls”. The Concert Band will then take you to the movies – Batman, Beetlejuice, Star Wars, more Star Wars – you can never have too much Star Wars – plus many more! Our final concert for the year – wishing our 34 seniors all the best – we hope to see you there! M. Hughey

 

The final AP European History lunch review session will be tomorrow, Thursday, May 4 in Mr. Pickering’s room. We are moving from our usual day this week due to a conflict with another AP test.  A. Pickering

 

Mark your Calendars for Tuesday, May 9th, from 6-8pm to check out these ORHS Businesses! This is a Free Community Event! There will be 13 Businesses represented and they will have products like bracelets, ORHS gear, bath-bombs, socks, bag tags; services like car detailing and lawncare; yummy baked goods and popcorn balls; and there is even a business working to create a great calming space here at ORHS! Come support these ORHS students by checking out their businesses and buying their products.  T. Lloyd

Students who have expressed interest in learning to cook, we have our first official cooking class with Aramark Chef Eric available for you on Friday, May 5 from 3:15 – 5:15 in our own cafeteria.

Please check your calendars now and make plans to attend.

COUNSELING INFO

 

Attention Juniors!  The Green McAdoo Cultural Organization is offering current juniors a scholarship opportunity for a one-time payment of $1,200!  There will be one winner chosen from ORHS, along with a winner from each of several area schools. If you are interested, stop by the Counseling Office to pick up the prompt and submission information.  The submission is due May 31st.

 

ATHLETICS

 

We are having 2 girls soccer interest meetings for the upcoming 2023 summer/fall season in May.  For all current 9-11 graders if you plan to play this fall, I need you to attend at least 1 meeting. The meetings will be right after school on Friday May 12 at 3:30 pm and Tuesday May 16 at 3:30 pm.  These meetings will be in the food court upper level.
