It’s that time of year again! Oak Ridge’s annual Powderpuff Game is getting started and we need players!. For all girls interested in playing for their class, please attend an informational meeting on April 6th during 3A in LC 311, Mrs. Wagner’s room. This year, boys will be allowed to participate as cheerleaders for their class, and they should attend the meeting as well!  A. Wagner

 

Student Council Announcement:  Attention all future leaders, election season is upon us. Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are eligible to run. Go to the Wildcat Canvas Hangout Page before 4pm TODAY, Wednesday April 5th to have your name placed on the ballot. Election candidates will be announced on April 6th.  A. Wagner

Juniors who have registered for the Work-Based Learning Program for the 2023-2024 school year with Mrs. Ledden for Business, Welding, or STEM are required to attend the introductory meeting after school TODAY in CS347. Students will not be allowed to interview and participate in the program until this requirement is met. Tickets to Prom 2023, Luminous Nights, will be on Pre-Order April 5th – 6th and 12th – 14th in the Arena Kiosk during 3rd period at the pre-order cost of $30 for singles and $60 for couples.  Tickets will also be on sale April 24th – 27th during 3rd period at the price of $40 for singles and $80 for couples. Tickets WILL NOT be sold Friday April 28th or Saturday April 29th.  All tickets are NON-TRANSFERABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE

**If your date is not a current ORHS student you must complete a Guest Application form found in Ms. Eidam Dyer’s room, LC 313, Student Services, or at Ticket Sales.  All forms must be completed and turned in with a copy of the guest’s ID to Student Services by April 26th.  S. Dyer

The ORHS Environmental Club is hosting a booth at the Jackson Square Farmers Market on Earth Day, Saturday April 22. The club needs quality clothing donations and volunteers to sew repurposed tote bags. If you have clothing to donate or like to sew, please help by joining us! Donations can be dropped off in LC107. Reach out to Mr. Alexander with questions.  J. Alexander

SENIOR INFO

 

Seniors:  Dress up as your favorite book character or author and join us on Wednesday, April 19th at 2:15 in the lower food court. Refreshments will be served, entertainment provided, cash door prizes will be given out at various times until ending at 3:30, and gift cards will be given out to winners of best costumes and originality.  Let’s kick off Senior events with this long-running fun tradition!  J. The ORHS English Department is offering a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior who plans to attend a two- or four-year college or university. This year, essays will be composed and submitted in- person on April 12, after school from 2:15-3:15 in CS 319. To register, see Mr. Feuer in CS 319 for an application form. All responses will be anonymously reviewed, and a winner chosen by a committee of teachers across multiple subjects.  M. Feuer

Seniors: Jostens will deliver your graduation supplies tomorrow, Thursday, during 3rd period lunch. Come to room CS347 to pick up your supplies. The balance must be paid in full. Seniors: The time has come to select speakers for the ORHS Class of 2023 Graduation and Convocation ceremonies.  Tryouts will be virtual this year. For specific information about how to audition, please visit the Class of 2023 Canvas page and find the announcement regarding tryouts. The deadline to upload a submission is April 7 at 3:00 p.m.G.
