Seniors, do you have great work ethics? Do you want to have evidence of this to share with future colleges and employers?

If so, please download this application and place check marks in areas you believe give evidence you deserve this distinction.

Anyone who can attain at least 20 points on this application may deliver it at any time before April 7, 2023 to Dr. Holly Cross’ office at Oak Ridge High School – (CS244) or e-mail a completed form to: hcross@ortn.edu.

Dr. Cross will verify all elements that are recorded in Skyward.

• Students must present written verification of items that are not recorded in their Skyward accounts.
• The most often-asked question is about the drug-free standard and Tennessee Promise hours.
• These require written verification to earn the points and are purely voluntary.

Upon graduation, a signed, formal certificate will be provided for students who earn the distinction to present to future colleges and/or employers. Per our policy, students graduating with a district-developed work ethic distinction shall be recognized at their graduation ceremony. This distinction will be useful for presentation to future employers for work-based learning, apprenticeships, and employment in a chosen field after graduation. Employers throughout Tennessee have indicated that students who present a document such as this, indicating desirable work habits will be given preference for interviews. To earn such a distinction, students must exhibit certain characteristics by earning points on this Work Ethic Distinction form.
