The Wildcats for Change will be hosting a school wide game night 9/15/21 in the food court.   Bring your favorite board game and money for the food truck and we will see you there!

Student Council: Calling all Kings and Queens!  Nominations for this year’s Homecoming Court will be held on Monday, September 20th! There are only THREE opportunities left for 10th and 11th graders to register for the PSAT! Students can register and pay on Sept. 8, Sept. 9, and Sept. 14 in the main lobby near the Food Court during lunch. The deadline to register is September 14th. The cost is $18. Students should bring a check in the amount of $18 made out to Oak Ridge High School with the student’s name and PSAT in the subject line. Cash will also be accepted (exact change preferred) but checks are strongly preferred. No refunds are available if you do not take the test. A limited number of exams are available. Please sign-up by the September 14th deadline. No late registrations will be accepted. Full details were emailed to parents and students on August 20th and September 7th. (M,Tu 9.14) B. Ottinger

Bonjour! The French Club-Le Cercle Français-will have their next meeting on Thursday 9/16 from 3:15-4 in LC304. All French students are welcome-if you are taking classes now or next semester. Are you interested in Forensic Technology? Or Fashion Design? What about Software Development? These events, and over 40 more STEM related events are just some of the competitions you can participate in as a member of the Technology Student Association. The all new ORHS Motorcycle club will meet Tuesday, September 14th during lunch in the bus loop. All students and staff who ride or are interested in motorsports are welcome to join us. If you ride to school, bring your lunch and your bike to the bus loop! Club t-shirts are available and officer positions need to be filled! COUNSELING INFORMATION

 

The University of North Carolina – Charlotte announces the Levine Scholars Program.  This four-year scholarship includes full tuition, room, board, a grant to implement a service project of the Scholar’s own design, and four summers of experiences that will develop leadership skills, social awareness and an international perspective. The total value of this four-year package is estimated at $105,000 for in-state students and $155,000 for out-of-state students.  If you are interested in being nominated for this scholarship submit your name and a brief statement as to why you should be considered for this opportunity to the Counseling Office no later than Friday, October 1st. SENIORS:  Official transcripts will be ran Wednesday, September 15 for all seniors.  If you have not turned in your forms, please turn them in to the School Counseling office ASAP.  If you turn your forms in after official transcripts are ran, your transcript will be corrected but your decile ranking will not change. REMINDER:  The deadline for the P.E.O. Chapter R Scholarships is September 15th.  The three scholarships are:     STAR Scholarship  /     Loretta McCoin Scholarship  / Chapter R Women Advancing Women Scholarship    If interested, please fill out the “PEO Scholarship Interest Form”. The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) is participating in Tennessee Application Week!  Seniors can all use the code TN2022 anytime from 9/12/21-9/19/21 to waive our normal $30 application fee and apply with us for free at uah.edu/apply. (M,W,F 9.17) A. Campbell
