ORHS Tennis Team Car Wash – this Saturday – October 19, Advanced Auto Parts in Oak Ridge.  2:00 – 4:00 p.m.  (MWF) – D. Bowman

 

Jostens will return to the Main Lobby and Arena Concessions’ Kiosk on Thursday, October 17, during lunch to collect orders for class rings. Any student at ORHS may order a class ring. $60 deposit is required. Extra packets are available in CS347.  (10/15) – T. Ledden

 

 

CLUB INFO

 

The Interact Club will have a brief, 30 minute meeting for members right about school in the amphitheater.  We will discuss the variety of volunteer activities we have scheduled this week.  Officers will meet for the last 30 minutes of the normal meeting time. (M) – A. King

 

Teens for Contact will meet Tuesday after school in the College & Career Room.  (Tu) – A. King

 

FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) will meet at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, in CS345. Anyone with an interest in business is invited to attend. Refreshments will be served, and dues are $10. (M, Th, F) – T. Ledden

 

COUNSELING INFO

 

Today (10/14)  an admissions representative from UTC will be in the main lobby during lunch.  And, on Thursday an admissions representative from South College will be in the main lobby during lunch.

 

Today, (10/14)  4:30-7:30 pm, at Calhoun’s on the River in Knoxville, UTC will be holding the Moc in a Minute event.  Students can submit an online admissions application to UTC beforehand, and those students who meet our the freshman admissions requirements can bring their transcripts and ACT scores and be admitted on the spot. The application fee will be waived at this event! Go to the ORHS Counseling Office’s Scholarships, Testing and Career webpage for the link to register. (M) – A. Campbell

 

The PSAT test will be THIS Wednesday, October 16th.  Testing room rosters will be posted outside of the counseling office, outside of the library, by the bus loop, and in the food court on Tuesday, October 15th. This test is only for 10th and 11th graders that registered to take the PSAT.  Lunch will be served 6th period to the students taking the test.  They will be expected to be in 7th and 8th periods.  All other students will follow their regular Wednesday schedule.  (Tu 10.15) – B. On Tuesday, October 15th, after fall break, the counselors will be visiting all the freshmen Guided Studies classes to review graduation requirements and provide an overview of counseling resources. (W 10.16) – A. Campbell

 

SENIOR INFO

 

 

Seniors: Jostens will return to the Main Lobby and Arena Concessions’ Kiosk on Thursday, October 17, during lunch to collect orders for graduation supplies. You must give the Jostens rep the order during lunch. Mrs. Ledden does not accepts orders. Extra packets are available in CS347. $60 deposit is required. (10/14) – T. Leddeon
