Student Council is hosting the first ever Homecoming Cookout and Parade this Thursday night from 6-8pm at the front loop of the school. We will have a parade of clubs and sports, the official presentation of the Homecoming Court, an auction to benefit the football team, food, games, and performances. Come join us to celebrate Homecoming and hype up the community before taking on the dragons Friday night.  (9/23-9/26) – A. Wagner

Intersession Forms are available in student services and the school counseling office. If you have a failing grade in a class, you have the opportunity to improve you grade during intersession, Sept. 30th through October 3. We are also offering an ACT prep course just in time for the upcoming October ACT tests. Forms must be submitted no later than noon on Friday, September 27th.  (9/19-9/27) – B. Estep

 

Last call for anyone interested in traveling to Costa Rica Spring Break 2020. Costa Rica’s lush rainforests, volcanic mountains and sparkling Pacific waters are some of the places you will explore. COUNSELING INFO

 

ACT has extended the deadline to register for the Saturday, October 26th ACT until THIS Friday, September 27th WITH NO LATE FEE!!!    If you want to take it one more time in addition to the Senior Re-take here at school, here is an opportunity to do so. The regular registration fee still applies but no LATE FEE is charged. (F) – K. Rowland

 

The 2019-2020 Teacher Tutoring Schedule has been updated and added to the ORHS website.  You can find it under the Academics tab on the Curriculum page.  If you need some extra help with a class, check out the times your teachers are available for tutoring. (F) – A. Campbell

 

Be sure and check out the Counseling Office website for scholarship links and deadlines!  There are new opportunities added frequently.On Tuesday, October 15th, after fall break, the counselors will be visiting all the freshmen Guided Studies classes to review graduation requirements and provide an overview of counseling resources. Wednesday, October 16th,  the PSAT, for all 10th and 11th graders that registered for the test, will be given 1st – 5th periods. Lunch will be served 6th and studentswill be expected to be in 7th and 8th periods. Testing locations will be posted around the school by Tuesday, October 15th.  All other students will follow their regular Wednesday schedule. (F) – A. Campbell

 

An admissions representative from Berea College will be in the counseling office right after school on Thursday, September 26th.  (9/23-9/26) – A. Campbell

 

If you registered to take the PSAT, stop by the Counseling Office and pick up your Student Guide! The test will be Wednesday after fall break. (9/24-9/27) – B. Ottinger

 

 

SENIOR INFO

 

Seniors: Jostens will return to the Main Lobby and Arena Concessions’ Kiosk on Thursday, October 17, during lunch to collect orders for graduation supplies. You must give the Jostens rep the order during lunch. Mrs. Ledden does not accepts orders. Extra packets are available in CS347. $60 deposit is required. (9/20, 9/24, 9/26, 10/14) – T. ATHLETICS THIS WEEK

 

Do you like hard hits?  Do you like popcorn?  Don’t wait until Friday for that!  Come to the Wildcat Volleyball match on Thursday as we host Maryville!  It’s STUDENT NIGHT!  All students get in free with their badges AND get free popcorn!!
