Attention students- today is Wildcat Day! Student Council is so excited to crown the official homecoming king and queen at halftime tonight!  Voting for the king and queen is open on Skyward until 4pm today and is available to all students. You don’t want to miss this as we take on the Clinton Dragons and show our biggest school spirit! (F) – A. Wagner

 

What will you be doing in June? Intersession Forms are available in student services and the school counseling office. If you have a failing grade in a class, you have the opportunity to improve you grade during intersession, Sept. 30th through October 3. We are also offering an ACT prep course just in time for the upcoming October ACT tests. Forms must be submitted no later than noon on Friday, September 27th.  (9/19-9/27) – B. Estep

COUNSELING INFO

 

ACT has extended the deadline to register for the Saturday, October 26th ACT until TODAY, September 27th WITH NO LATE FEE!!!    If you want to take it one more time in addition to the Senior Re-take here at school, here is an opportunity to do so. The regular registration fee still applies but no LATE FEE is charged. (F) – K. Rowland

 

The PSAT test will be on Wednesday, October 16th. That is the Wednesday after fall break.  Testing room rosters will be posted outside of the counseling office, outside of the library, by the bus loop, and in the food court on Tuesday, October 15th. This test is only for 10th and 11th graders that registered to take the PSAT. If you have registered, stop by the Counseling Office and pick up your Student Guide!  (Tu 10/15) – B. Ottinger

 

The 2019-2020 Teacher Tutoring Schedule has been updated and added to the ORHS website.  You can find it under the Academics tab on the Curriculum page.  If you need some extra help with a class, check out the times your teachers are available for tutoring. (F) – A. Campbell

On Tuesday, October 15th, after fall break, the counselors will be visiting all the freshmen Guided Studies classes to review graduation requirements and provide an overview of counseling resources. (W 10.16) – A. Campbell

 

NC STATE UNIVERSITY – is offering the Park Scholarship.  This opportunity is based on outstanding accomplishments and potential in scholarship, leadership, service and character.  It is a four year scholarship valued at up to $205,000 out-of-state, including tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, travel, and personal expenses.  If you would like to be considered for a nomination by ORHS please submit a personal statement and resume to Ms. Redman in the School Counseling office by Friday, September 27.
