Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Summer School registration packets are now available. Students, you can find them in the main office, student services or in the Counseling office.

Students, all rented calculators will be collected this week in your math class. Seniors on Monday May 21st, Underclassmen on Tuesday May 22nd and Wednesday May 23rd Fee for Lost or damaged calculators is $125.00. (5/21-5/23) – J. Zimprich

There will be a meeting for students and their parents/guardians who are taking ROTC

Yearbooks will be on sale only through May 29 (Tuesday) from Mrs. Byrd in CS328, $70 Cash only please.  After the end of the school day on Tuesday, May 29th, yearbooks will no longer be for sale. (5/22-5/29) – R. Byrd

COUNSELING INFO

Peg Marrs Memorial Scholarship – This scholarship is given in the memory of Peg Marrs, a former ORHS mathematics chair, who loved mathematics and encouraged her students to excel in the subject. The endowment is $400 and intended for students who will be in a math-related major. If you are interested in applying, applications may be found in Ms. Mullins room (CS231).  CLUB & ORGANIZATION INFO

International Relations Club is back!!! We will be selecting officers on Wednesday, May 23rd at 2:00 in the  Combined Studies Room.  If you are interested in International politics, policy decisions on the environment, national defense, and other global issues,  we want you to join us.  The club meets on Thursdays from 3 – 4 beginning in August. Attention seniors! Graduation is coming up and we still have a few more fun things planned before we leave. The senior slideshow is coming up so dig through those old scrapbooks and baby boxes for all of those adorable elementary and middle school pictures. We would love to use group photos of you with your fellow classmates from sporting events, school parties, and more! Seniors: the following elementary schools want to invite you to their Senior Celebrations:

Glenwood’s Senior Walk and Breakfast is May 30th at 8:30 am. Please wear your cap and gown.

Woodland’s Alumni Gathering is May 29th at 11:00 am. Please wear your cap and gown.

Linden’s Reunion is May 29th from 4:00-5:30 pm in the Linden Cafeteria. There will be refreshments and lots of Linden memories.

Willow Brook Alumni will celebrate on May 30th at 9:00 am. Please wear your cap & gown. (5/1-5/25, T,F)

ATTENTION ALL SENIORS:

senior Movie night will be held on May 24 at 9 pm. Come sit with your classmates and friends as we watch Grown Ups on the soccer field. Candy and drinks will be provided. Please bring your own method of seating whether that be a lawn chair or a blanket. Also, we encourage you to bring a small object to be put in the class of 2018 time capsule.  (5/18-5/24) – B. Do you like working hard and playing hard? Do you want to be part of the most decorated program in ORHS sports history? The Oak Ridge High School Cross Country 2018 informational meeting will be Tuesday May 22 at 3:15 In room LC 326 AKA the Civics Room. If for some reason you can’t stay for the meeting, come to room 326 anyway immediately after school that day and talk to Coach Wright. Be a winner. (5/18, 5/21, 5/22) – T. Sauer

Girls Basketball – Tryouts for the 2018-2019 girls basketball season will be on Tuesday, May 29 from 3:30-5:30 and Wednesday May 30 from 3:30-5:30.  Any girl interested in trying out for the JV or Varsity team should attend these tryout dates.  You must have a completed physical to tryout.  If you have any questions, please see Coach Redman in the school counseling office.
