Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

In order to maintain safety at our school, students and staff should wear their badges to school every day.  Badges should be readily visible, this means that badges should be worn on a lanyard or clipped to your clothing in such a way that it is visible to someone walking past you. You should remain wearing your badges throughout the whole day, or as long as you are on campus. Students whose badges are not visible will receive an office referral and a consequence. Dance Cats tryouts will be held on Friday April 7th. There will be a mandatory clinic for those interested in tryouts, on Wednesday April 5th and Thursday April 6th. If you’re a rising junior or senior and have wondered what college is like in New York City, NYU Precollege is your chance to find out. Precollege offers high school students the opportunity to experience NYU by spending six weeks living and learning in their community. The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine is currently accepting applications for the 2017 Veterinary Summer Experience Program. Application deadline is 11:59 PM on March 31st. Attention JUNIORS: there will be a meeting regarding applying to Boys’/Girls’ State next Monday, April 3rd  at 3:10 in the College/Career Room located in the Counseling Office. This is a tremendous opportunity that will cost you nothing but transportation to the program. If you are interested in a week of learning more about how government/leadership works and want to participate in a program that is known nationwide to all colleges/universities, attend this meeting. All students who are registered for the Business Academy Co-op Program and/or the Virtual Enterprise Course for next year should attend one of the following mandatory informational meetings. The meetings will be held after school on Tuesday, April 4, and Thursday, April 6, beginning at 3:15 in room CS347. Plan to stay 45 minutes to an hour. CLUB & ORGANIZATION INFO

Those JUNIORS who believe they have a 3.6 cumulative GPA and who wish to be considered for membership in National Honor Society must pick up a Verification of Interest form from Mrs. Milloway in the Library.  Signed and completed forms are due by 3:15 on Friday, March 31.  NO LATE FORMS CAN BE ACCEPTED! National Honor Society will meet on Monday, April 3rd at 3:15 in LC-327.  All members are expected to attend. Please explain conflicts to Madame Bailey prior to the meeting.  Members of the Refreshment, Speaker and Scholarship committees should plan on remaining after the meeting of the Society as a whole.
