Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

The Driving Center is again offering two Driver Education classes over Fall Intersession.  First class starts Oct. 2nd and the second Oct 9th.  All classes meet from 8:00am till 3:30 pm Monday thru Thursday. Choose the class that fits your schedule. Testing can be administered here at The Driving Center.  A permit is not required to complete the 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training.  Please call (865) 482-6700 for more information or to enroll. Sprit days have been decided! Monday is America Day. Tuesday is Black Out Day. Wednesday is Hat Day. Thursday is Lumberjack Day. And Friday is Wildcat Day – Show your school colors. Make sure you participate so that your class is declared the most spirited class! (9/20-9/22) – H. Haynes

Three, yes, THREE National Honor Society tutors are coming out in force today to help you finish strong for the first term. Come to the Counseling Center from 3:15 to 3:50 for help from Jimin Lee, Logan Williams, and Briley Wright. (9/21) – K. Senter

Wildcat Credit Union will be giving away four tickets to Friday night’s football game between Sevier County and our Wildcats!  To be entered, simply follow us on twitter @ORHSCredit Union.  We will draw four names today, and each student will receive a ticket.  Only ORHS students are eligible to win.  Be sure to visit the Wildcat Credit Union in the food court during lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays to learn more about everything we have to offer! Any student that signed up to take the ASVAB test with the last name beginning A-M please report to the Amphitheatre today to take the test.  It will be from 8 am – 11 pm.  Students with the last name N-Z will test next Thursday. Thank you! (9/21) – C. Wilson

Tennessee Governor’s School for the ARTS – Any student interested in applying for TN Governor’s School for the ARTS needs to see Ms. Redman in the School Counseling Office by Tuesday, September 26^th.  (9/20-9/22) – P. Redman

The Counseling Department will host three Naviance Help Session for seniors before fall break.If you need Naviance help, come to the Amphitheater Tuesday, September 26^th from 3:15 until 4:15 or Wednesday, September 27^th during lunch. (9/22, 9/25-9/26) – B. Ottinger

CLUB & ORGANIZATION INFO

Hallo! Und Guten Tag! Do you like German? Do you want to learn more and hang out with other students interested in German? Then come to German Club also known as “Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft”. Our next meeting is the upcoming Monday, September 25th in room CS 304 at 3:15. We are going to schedule and organize the upcoming Oktoberfest! Auf Wiedersehen! (9/20-9/25) – S. Nebenfuehr

Fame, glory, chocolate: these can be yours when you win the Branching Out story contest! Write a story of 1-3 pages including the words “silver,” “hurricane,” “narc,” “Toronto,” and “ice pick.” Bring your story to Ms. Sasser in CS336 by 3:10 on Thursday, September 29. The first meeting for the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica will be on Monday, September 25 at 3:15 in CS 301. Students inducted during the last three school years should attend. Compassion Club will meet at 3:15 on Monday, September 25 at 3:25 in CS 301. We will elect officers for the 2017-2018 school year and make a photo for the yearbook. Students interested in becoming members should see Mrs. Ferguson in CS 301. This club raises funds to support students living in poverty in Spanish-speaking countries and educational programs abroad. Future Business Leaders of America will meet today at 3:15 in Mrs. Archer’s room, CS 345.  Any student who has an interest in business is invited to come and learn more about this organization. (9/21) – R. Archer
