Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

The year is ending, so that means it’s time for one of the best events at ORHS. The Psychology Fair is TOMORROW. Teachers, bring your students to learn about things like memory, sensation, and gender differences. Students, annoyingly beg your teachers to bring you! Broadcasting students, come film us. That means YOU “cameraman”. Psych Fair happens in the Wildcat Arena, 2nd thru 6th periods. (W) – P. Jarnigan

NHS tutoring is coming to a close. Only 4 more opportunities for this free service which is located in the Counseling Center from 3:15-3:50. This Tuesday see Grace Chrisman and Beth Wyatt. See Lara Manning and Hannah Winstead on Thursday. (Th) – L. Bailey

Are you a current Junior that would like to be nominated as a Wofford Scholar? Wofford announces their 69th annual Wofford Scholars Program. Qualified candidates are eligible to compete for scholarships ranging from $3,000 per year up to full scholarship, which is valued at approximately $45,000 per year. Need some volunteer or community service hours? Office of Coordinated School Health is looking for race day volunteers for our 3rd Annual Oak Ridge Schools STOMP OUT Tobacco 5k coming up on Saturday, May 20th at Grove Center Race Course!  Volunteers are needed anytime from 6am – 11am at your availability and all volunteers will receive a free race t-shirt!  Remember, all Oak Ridge Schools students and employees can register for FREE online before race day!  If you are interested in participating or volunteering, please contact me at jllaurendine@ortn.edu.  (5/10, 5/15, 5/17, 5/19) – J. SENIOR INFO

All seniors that have rented a calculator from the math department should return those during your math class on Thursday, May 18. Please bring them to the math work room at the beginning of your class. Remember, all outstanding fees, calculators, etc. must be taken care of in order to graduate. (M-Th) – J. Zimprich

The “Doc Combs” Memorial Scholarship applications are ready for review. Common scholarship form must be on file in the Guidance Office. This $1,000. scholarship is awarded annually in memory of former Oak Ridge High School Band Director Mr. Doc Combs.   Deadline is 5.17 (Th) – T. Seals

SENIORS – please remember to pay your food service bill in full by May 19. If you have a credit on your account please feel free to purchase items or you can request a refund. (Forms are available from the Food Service area). Congratulations to each of you on your upcoming graduation. It has been our honor to be your food service provider. CLUB & ORGANIZATION INFO

This Thursday, May 18th, will be the last meeting for the Anime Club for this school year.  Come spend some time with friends and say goodbyes to our seniors.  There  may be a surprise waiting! (5/16-18) – H. Lintz
