Feeling springy? Put it to action! We will be having our Spring Medic blood drive on Friday, April 12 in the B Gym. As an extra incentive, Medic has promised to bring Chick-fil-A chicken biscuits to those who sign up in advance. See Mrs. Minarik or Mrs. Pointer for the sign-up form.  S. Minarik

Any junior who is interested in Work-Based Learning next year in the areas of Business, Information Technology, STEM, or Welding and could not attend the mandatory meeting before Spring Break should see Mrs. Ledden in CS347 or email her at tledden@ortn.edu to schedule a make-up meeting.  T. Tickets for Diamond of the Season, Prom 2024, will be on Pre-order April 3rd-5th and 9th-12th for $30 for a single and $60 for a couple in the Arena Kiosk during 3rd period lunch. The line will close 5 minutes before the end of the period.

**Are you planning on bringing a date to Prom who is not a current ORHS student?  Please be sure to pick up a Guest Application form from Ms. Eidam Dyer in LC 313, Student Services or during ticket sales in the Kiosk.  All Guest Applications are due by April 24th, 2024.  S. Dyer

 

Class of 2025  National Honor Society Inductees: NHS Induction practice will be held in the auditorium on Wednesday, April 10, at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony is April 11, at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Please see Mr. Feuer or Dr. Thomas if you have any questions.  M. Feuer

Due to an expansion of ministry services at the Highland View church across the street from the Arena parking lot, the west parking lot by Providence House will no longer be available for student parking.  The east lot between Highland View and First Baptist will remain an option for students.  We are appreciative of Highland View’s willingness to provide this additional parking.  Please abide by this request.  S. Student Council and Class Officer elections are fast approaching! Any current freshmen, sophomore, or junior in good standing is eligible to run for a position. The Oak Ridge High School Pioneer Chapter of National Honor Society is offering a $500 scholarship to any NHS graduating senior. The application includes a brief in-person written response  on a related topic. See Mr. Feuer in CS 319 for an application and to schedule the in-person written response. The application is also available to download on the NHS Canvas homepage. The deadline to submit the application to the Canvas submission portal and to schedule the written response appointment is Friday, April 12.

Class of 2024 National Honor Society Graduates: NHS hoods will be available outside CS347 April 10, during 3rd period. There’s a required $30 deposit. Please bring a check made out to ORHS National Honor Society. Do not bring cash. Mr. Feuer and Dr. Thomas will be in the main lobby during 3rd period May 20-24, to collect the hoods. When the hood is returned, the deposit will be returned. If anyone has a question or would like his or her hood before April 10, contact Mr. Feuer or Dr. Thomas.  M. Feuer

Chuck Fleishmann will be hosting our annual Military Academy Day on Saturday, April 20th, 2024.  The event will take place at the UTC Student Center at 10:00am.  Everyone is invited to hear from Congressman Fleischmann, representatives from five military academies and college ROTC programs.  A.
