STUDENT INFO

Did you park near the BIG WildBand trailer?  Students parking in the parking lot on the front side of the building need to be aware that the Band Practice Area closest to the OR Turnpike is used every afternoon.  If you’ve parked in that area today, please move your vehicle during lunch hours.  (Tu,Th) – M. CLUB INFO

Oak Ridge High School is now looking for male and female students to join our brand new, TSSAA Men’s and Women’s Bowling teams. We will compete with schools across Knoxville and East Tennessee region and our bowling lanes are just down the street! Our practices begin ASAP and our matches begin after Fall Break. We are open to anyone with a willingness to practice and get better, but if you can bowl 150 or higher, you had better come join! Do you want to learn how to run a business, build a 150lb robot, or learn to program? Our Secret City Wildbots FIRST robotics team might be for you. We organize our team like a startup business and need a wide variety of skills; all of which you learn here. At robotics we use digital media and public relations, innovation, and really cool machinery, like a 5-axis CNC, to be the best team we can be, to win competitions, have fun, and make lifelong friends. The soft and hard skills you learn here are all real world applicable and companies in many fields are looking for these skills. We are a high-performance team that has competed at the World Championships 10 out of 11 years. Senior Seminar for Parents is TONIGHT, August 30th from 6-7 p.m. in the ORHS Amphitheater. If senior parents are unable to attend, all information will also be emailed. Make sure to check the Canvas Class of 2023 Page and Skyward Messages for important senior information. (T – 8/30) – B. Ottinger

The tradition continues. It’s time for the Senior Shirt Design Contest—the shirt that every senior gets to sign. Please submit your designs for the Class of 2023 Senior Shirt to Mrs. Ledden in Room CS347 by Thursday, September 22. You do not have to be a senior to submit designs for the shirt—open to all grade levels.

• We need a front shirt design and a back shirt design. Each of these designs is a separate “contest”.  Prizes for each contest are as follows:  Front – $25; Back – $25. (That’s $50 if you win both!)
• Be sure to incorporate ORHS, Seniors, and Class of 2023 into your drawings. Place your name and first period teacher’s name on the back of each design entry.  Entries must be original work and if selected, will become the property of Oak Ridge High School. (Selection committee reserves the right to combine two or more designs in which case each person will receive prize money.)  (T, F, W, Th-9/8) T. Ledden
