Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

 

STUDENT INFO

 

 

Announcement: Attention Royals! Homecoming king and queen nominations will be held on Thursday August 25th.  Seniors will vote for a nominee via skyward during the school day.  Make sure to check up on the spirit week themes through the Wildcat student hangout page. Spirit week will take place on September 12th through the 16th.  Monday will be Mathletes vs Athletes, Tuesday will be Bikers vs Surfers, Wednesday will be Christmas vs 4th of July, Thursday will be Country vs Country Club and to conclude the week will be our Wildcat Spirit day. UPPERCLASSMEN: Do you want to personalize your parking spot?  Please bring your application, design, and payment to the Cheerleading Coaches on Tuesday and Thursday 3:45 pm-7:00 pm at the Wildcat Arena! If your design is approved, you’ll be able to paint your spot on the following painting days.    Seniors – Sunday, September 4        Juniors –  Sunday, September 18  (Tu, Th) R.Monday

 

Did you park near the BIG WildBand trailer?  Students parking in the parking lot on the front side of the building need to be aware that the Band Practice Area closest to the OR Turnpike is used every afternoon.  If you’ve parked in that area today, please move your vehicle during lunch hours.  (Tu,Th) – M. CLUB INFO

 

Youth for Christ is back.  Come spend time with people interested in discussing the claims of Christ in LC 215 next Monday, August 29 from 3:15 to 4:00. We will be meeting every Monday from now on. (Tu, Th) V. Moreno

 

The Computer Science club will be meeting on Wednesdays after school until 3:00 in CS 341. This club will help students learn to code in languages that are used to build apps and websites. Steven Qu will be the guest speaker this week, he is a computer scientist who recently graduated from Carnegie-Melon. (8/23-8/24) -K Jackson

 

Attention Health Science students (past students, current students, or spring semester students): Registration for HOSA’s 2022-23 school year is open. Please bring $50 (cash or check) to Mrs. Minarik or Mrs. Pointer by August 31. Do not delay! You don’t want to miss joining this club exclusive to health science students! (Tu,Th 8.31) – S. SENIOR INFO

 

Seniors who have submitted an application, or would like to submit an application to paint their parking stall, please see Mrs. Leigh Aynne Eidenmiller on Tuesday and/or Thursday from 3:00 to 3:45 pm at the back of the school near the Wildcat Arena to have seniors select their parking stall. She will also be taking applications, collecting money, and answering questions. Juniors will select their parking stalls once all seniors have selected theirs. (T-TH) M. Umansky

 

 

 

 

COUNSELING INFO

 

The counseling department is hosting a new too Oak Ridge High School student lunch on August 31, 2022, during 3a and 3b lunch in LC326.  If you have recently transferred to ORHS and would like to join us, please RSPV to the counseling office by August 30.  (8/23.25.28.29) A. King

 

PSAT Registration

Attention all Sophomores and Juniors:  The PSAT/NMSQT® is an OPTIONAL test that will be offered to 10th and 11th graders at Oak Ridge High School on Tuesday, October 25th at 7:50 a.m. This date is set by PSAT/CollegeBoard. The test should end by 1:00 p.m. and the food court will be open at that time for students that take the test.

  • Online registration and fee payment will be begin on Thursday, August 25th

through Thursday, September 8th

  • The cost is $18. No refunds are available if you do not take the test.
  • A limited number of exams are available. Please sign-up by the September 8th

deadline.

  • Once registration closes there will be an announcement made for you to pick up

your PSAT Student Guide in the counseling office.
