Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

Not sure if you’ve been put in OR? If you’re missing any assignment, you probably have.  But you also get an email to your @ortn.edu email address as soon as a teacher gives you OR.  So open up that Outlook app and find out for yourself!  Remember that if you hand in all your work on time this will NEVER apply to you! Have you ever eaten at the Magic Wok? Have you met the Oak Ridge treasures who are Ms. Betty and Jim?  Monday Aug 15th is the Magic Wok’s 40th Anniversary. Students who have open lunch are invited during lunch to help celebrate this milestone and thank Ms. Betty and Jim for taking care of our community especially the high school students for so long. Please remember that you must make it back to school on time for 4th period.  If you can’t make it during lunch please stop by after school. There will be a memory book to sign and leave a note in. If you can’t make it, but would like to write a note, please drop it off to Ms. Eidam Dyer in LC 313 by Friday. (Th) – S. EidamDyer

 

Come join us for Improv on Mondays after school in the upper balcony lobby of the auditorium. It is a fun way to grow your acting skills! Everyone is welcome. If you enjoy it, stay around and audition for our Improv Team. The Improv team will perform at The Secret City Festival, Cheap Date Night and other performance opportunities throughout the year. Do you need a locker?  An email was sent to all students August 2nd with a link to sign up for a locker.  In order to sign up, you will need to know the locker number and the hallway to complete the form. (Tu, Th) – Admin

 

Outside food – Students are not allowed to have outside food delivered or bring outside food back into the building upon returning from open campus.  However, drinks are permitted.  (Tu, Th) – Admin

 

Did you park near the BIG WildBand trailer?  Students parking in the parking lot on the front side of the building need to be aware that the Band Practice Area closest to the OR Turnpike is used every afternoon.  If you’ve parked in that area today, please move your vehicle during lunch hours.  (Tu,Th) – M. CLUB INFO

 

Do you want to join the most fun club at ORHS? Do you like volunteer and help the community? Then the Interact Club might be for you. We will have our first meeting on Monday, August 15 in the amphitheater right after school until 4pm. (M)  A. King

 

Come learn about the culture of Spanish speaking countries, practice speaking, play games, eat, create and have fun!! Monday, August 15 @ 3:10 in LC304. (Th) – E. Franco

 

The German Club will meet this Friday the 12th of August right after school at 3:15 in Mrs Nebenfuehr’s room CS301.Everyone interested is invited! It will be the first meeting so come and set the tone for the rest of the year! (F) – S. Nebenfueh

 

Would you like to learn more about the world at large? Do you like discussing international business, law, and events? Then join our Model UN club on Monday, 8/15 at 3:15 in LC317. We will start discussing plans for the year and introduce Model UN to anyone new. See you there! (M) – A. Shaffer

Interested in Christianity?  Come to an informational meeting FOR YOUTH FOR CHRIST CLUB TODAY at 3:15. Meeting will be in LC 215, Mr. Moreno’s room. (Th) – V. Moreno

 

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet tomorrow morning at 7:10 at Providence House across the street from the Wildcat Arena parking lot.  All students are welcome to this 15 to 20 minute devotion time from the Bible every Friday morning.  Chick-fil-A biscuits and donuts are provided.  The speaker this week is Chad Brosius, youth pastor at Beech Park Baptist Church. Are you interested in going on a quest into your imagination?  Are you interested in becoming a Dungeon Master and being a part of an incredible campaign?  Dungeons and Dragons Club will meet on Fridays from 3:15 to 4:45 in CS329.  We welcome new players even if this is your first time playing DnD.  Come create characters!
