CLUB INFORMATION

Student Council will hold a leadership breakfast this Friday, April 1st. If you are interested in running for a class officer position or Student Council officer position or if you would like to join the Student Council class next year, please join us for this information session. The meeting will begin at 7:15 in Mrs. Wagner’s room, LC331, and breakfast will be served. Don’t miss this great opportunity to be the change you want to see in your school. (3/28-3/31) – A. Wagner

The 2022-2023 ORHS Dance Cat Tryouts are scheduled!  Clinics will be held on Monday, April 4^th and Tuesday April 5^th from 3:00-5:00.  Tryouts will happen on Wednesday, April 6^th at 3:00.  For more information and to have your name added to the tryout roster, please email your name, current grade, and current school to orhsdancecats@gmail.com. GSTA meets this Thursday and every Thursday after school in room CS 335. This week we’ll talk about Youth Pride and make plans to tie dye our Festival shirts. See you there! (M-W 3.30) – C. Milloway

TnPromise Opportunities

Do you need community service hours for TnPromise or your college application?  Soccer Club of Oak Ridge is sponsoring their annual tournament on April 9th and 10th and LOTS of volunteers will be needed.  Electronic signups are required by March 30th.  Seniors have a link emailed on March 17th.  Underclassmen wishing to volunteer should email Mrs. Thompson at sathompson@ortn.edu for a link. Linden Elementary will sponsor FAMILY ART NIGHT on April 22nd.  Several volunteers will be needed from 6;00 – 8:00 pm.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please fill out the form sent by email or it can be found in the Daily Bulletin!   The deadline for signing up to volunteer is April 15th.

SCHOLARSHIP  INFORMATION

Attention ALL Seniors.  The Scarboro Community Alumni Association is accepting applications for a scholarship.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office, the Senior Canvas page, or by emailing Mrs. Thomspon.  Applicants should complete the form and submit the essay no later than May 2, 2022.  Please see the scholarship page for prerequisites (W 5.2) – S. Thompson

BIG functions as a professional development association, an advocacy organization, an employee support group, and to provide community service. BIG’s goals essentially are to promote EQUITY in all aspects of American life, EXCELLENCE in public service, and OPPORTUNITY for all Americans. The Chapter’s mission is to assist and support BIG in achieving and retaining its status of excellence in the public and community sector. This mission will be achieved by maintaining effective communication in the black community on available scholarships to encourage students to continue their education.  Seniors were sent an email last week with the fillable PDF, and the due date is April 15th.
