Winter Formal Tickets may be sold out, but there is still time to vote for your snow king and queen. Vote with your change and benefit Second Harvest of East Tennessee during lunch today and tomorrow.  Please remember that Winter Formal Tickets are not exchangeable or resellable in any way. You must present the ticket with your name on it to gain entry into the Formal on Saturday evening. (2/10-2/11) – A. Wagner

Course Registration for the 2022-2023 school year starts soon! The 2022-2023 Academic Planning Guide is now available on the desktop of all student laptops. Detailed registration information will be shared with students during Seminars on February 22, 2022. In the meantime, students can access their graduating class Canvas page for all important registration documents. These documents will also be emailed to families through Skyward Messages. All student transcripts have been uploaded to the students’ Skyward Portfolio so they are available for review. (T, Th – 2/22) – B. Ottinger

Roses are red.  Violets are blue.  Buy a carnation or maybe buy two.  It’s that time of the year again.  Carnations are on sale.  See a Senior Steering Member before school, during lunch, and after school to purchase a lovely carnation to give to someone to let them know you are thinking of them.  Carnations are $2 each or 3 for $5.  Make someone’s day on Valentine’s Day!  (2/4, 2/7, 2/8, 2/9, 2/10, 2/11) – C. The National Economics Challenge is one of the Council for Economic Education’s key initiatives to promote student interest in economics, reinforce classroom instruction, encourage teamwork and school spirit, and focus public attention on the benefits of economic literacy. Contact Mrs. Bauman if you are interested in participating in this challenge.  We begin on the State Level, hopefully advance to the Regional Area, And Then NEW YORK CITY!!!  AP Teams are the Adam Smith Competition.  This includes Micro and Macro Economics AP. Mrs. Bauman’s team won the State Challenge last year and students earned $250. Each as an award. Let’s do it again in 2022!!! Mrs. Bauman lives in LC 318 and her email is bbauman@ortn.edu. CLUB INFORMATION

 

The National Honor Society meeting is Monday, February 14th immediately after school in LC326. (2/10-/2/11) – K. Senter

 

Join Philosophy Club after school on Friday in Mr. Pickering’s room (LC322) for a discussion on modesty. (2/10-2/11) – A. Pickering

 

The ORHS Key Club is hosting their annual diaper drive to support TORCH, a local charity that works with homeless individuals. To donate, see Mr. Schoolcraft in LC224 or a Key Club member.

 

The ORHS Key Club, in partnership with other schools in the area, is hosting a donation drive for the Ronald McDonald House in Knoxville. The Ronald McDonald House is in need of items such as cereals, breakfast bars, ranch dressing, non-dairy creamers, Ramen noodles, chips, and various snacks. For the list of other items to donate, there will be flyers posted around the school. To donate, see Mr. Schoolcraft in LC224 or a Key Club member.
