Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

 

STUDENT INFO

 

 

Students –Badge checks are taking place every day. If you are in violation of the badge policy, emails are being sent to both you and your parent.  The email is a notification of the violation and the date that you are required to attend after school detention. You will no longer be called to Student Services to get a detention notice for badge violation. You will be notified by this email that you have two days to serve your detention without further consequences. Check your ortn emails to find out if you have been assigned detention. Wear your badge to avoid detention.

 

Detention is held every day  in LC 327.  M, Tu, Th, F –  3:15 – 3:45   W – 2:00 – 3:30

Basketball & Swim Season begins November 18.   Do you have your Student Athletic Pass?  For only $45 you can watch every regular season home event for the rest of the year. This includes the Spring sports:  Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Track & Tennis. You can purchase your pass in the Main Office.  (Tu, Th 11.23) T. Seals

 

The Fall Play “Clue” premieres TONIGHT!  Do you have your tickets for this classic comedy?  Shows are Nov 11-14:  Thursday at 7, Saturday at 7, and Sunday at 2  Tickets will be available at the door for $7 for students and $8 for adults. Don’t miss this high school tradition!

 

Attention Sophomores or Juniors interested in attending Governor’s School for the Arts 2022:

The TN Governor’s School for the Arts will be held June 4th, 2022 – June 25th, 2022 at Middle TN State University

Guidelines and instructions on how to apply have been sent to your school email and posted on Skyward. You must follow the guidelines set by ORHS when applying. ORHS has different deadlines than the actual Governor’s School. Information about Governor’s Schools other than Arts will be distributed in the near future.

Governor’s School – Summer 2022  (These dates are different than Governor’s School for the Arts)

Any Sophomore of Junior interested in attending Governor’s School during the Summer 2022, please see the attached list of Governor’s Schools offered by the state.  You must adhere to the deadlines set by ORHS when applying. ORHS has different deadlines than the actual Governor’s School. IMPORTANT DATES & DEADLINES FOR ORHS STUDENTS FOR ALL GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL EXCEPT ARTS

  • Friday, November 19, 2021 – Deadline for giving teachers and counselors recommendation forms and your resume. Tell teachers their letters are due to Counseling no later than Friday, December 17, 2021.

Can we trust the science on COVID-19? Can we trust the media to present the science? Join Philosophy Club after school Friday in Mr. Pickering’s room (LC322) for two exciting 2022 Ethics Bowl case discussions. (11/11-11/12) – A. Pickering

 

Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet tomorrow, Friday the 12th, at 7:10 AM at Providence House across the street from the Wildcat Arena parking lot.  The speaker will be Chad Brocious from Beech Park Baptist Church.  Breakfast is always served along with a fabulous Biblical message.  All are welcome.

 

Calling all FCCLA members come join us this Friday, November 12th in Mrs. Sparks room (CS 250) for our very first FCCLA meeting. We will be providing breakfast. Please make sure to RSVP by Thursday morning through our website or our Instagram. (F) – B. Sparks

SENIOR INFO

 

Attention Seniors! The Senior Steering Club will meet on Monday, November 15th right after school in CS345. (11/11 – 11/15) – C. Stalliard

 

Reminder to all seniors being inducted into the ORHS National Honor Society:  Your dues are due no later than Monday, November 15. NHS officers and inductees should attend the rehearsal in the amphitheater after school on Tuesday, November 16th.  ALL members of NHS are expected to attend the Induction Ceremony on Thursday, November 18th, at 7:00pm in the amphitheater. The featured speaker for the ceremony will be Ms. Beth Estep. (11/11-11/12) – K. Senter

 

Seniors: go to the Class of 2022 Page in Canvas, and submit your signature for the senior shirt by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, November 12. (M,-Th) – T. Ledden

 

Seniors: turn in senior signature shirt/sweat orders during lunch at the Arena Concessions’ Kiosk. Cash or check made payable to ORHS. You may also give your order to Mrs. Ledden in CS347. (11/9, 11/10, 11/11) – T. Ledden

 

Seniors: Jostens will return to the Main Lobby and Arena Concessions’ Kiosk on Thursday, November 18, during lunch to collect orders for graduation supplies. Reminder: every senior must order the cap & gown unit (includes tassel). You must give the Jostens rep the order during lunch. Mrs. Ledden does not accepts orders.
