Masquers regrets to inform you that we are going to be postponing the show “Twelfth Night” till early December. The show is POSTPONED NOT CANCELLED. We will let you know the exact date as soon as it can be locked down. All tickets bought virtually will be honored at any of our performances. We can issue refunds if you cannot make it on the new dates. The outdoor show is moved indoors unless we have a freak warming spell in December. Thanks for your understanding. (11/12-11/13) – V. All through the month of November, come to the library to decorate a rock – keep it to remind you of what grounds you, give it away to someone who needs a pick me up, leave it in the library to encourage everyone who sees it – your choice. (M,F – end of November) – C. Milloway

COUNSELING INFORMATION

 

The Counseling Office is an excellent resource for scholarship opportunities!! There are scholarships specific to ORHS students, through the East Tennessee Foundation and other local groups.  Private corporate scholarships and scholarship search engines that will help you find opportunities for nearly every interest and post-high school education option.  There is even information on career exploration and summer opportunities at some amazing schools.  Stop by the Counseling Office and check out our Scholarship Section or visit our website: https://www.ortn.edu/highschool/academics/school-counseling/testing-scholarship-and-career/

 

The Tee Higgins “Be The Change” Scholarship is designated for an African-American senior at Oak Ridge High School who is a Wildcat student-athlete and understands the importance of being ”All In” in order to achieve their dreams.  All applicants should have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher and a minimum ACT score of 19.  Application can be picked up in the Counseling Office.  Submit your form and writing prompt to Mrs. Taylor in the Counseling Office by Friday, December 4, 2020.

 

UT Promise is a last-dollar, undergraduate scholarship that will guarantee free tuition and mandatory fees to qualifying Tennessee residents enrolling in an undergraduate degree at UT campuses in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Martin and Memphis.  This innovative scholarship will cover a student’s last-dollar amount of tuition and mandatory fees after other financial aid is applied (such as Pell grants, HOPE Scholarship or other institutional scholarships) to students who qualify for HOPE and whose family household income is under $50,000 a year. UT Promise is a student-success oriented scholarship program that requires students to complete volunteer service hours and meet with a volunteer mentor each semester to ensure a successful student experience.  Visit https://tennessee.edu/ut-promise/ for more information.

 

The online application for the Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship is available now at jackierobinson.org. Through the JRF application, more than 4,000 talented young minority high school students apply to become JRF Scholars and carry on the civic-minded legacy of the foundation’s namesake, Jackie Robinson. The deadline to submit the application for a JRF Scholarship is February 1, 2021, 5 p.m. ET.

East Tennessee Foundation (ETF) is happy to announce that ETF 2021 Scholarship Applications will be AVAILABLE on NOVEMBER 1st on our website, http://www.etf.org/scholarships.   There are two scholarship opportunities solely for Oak Ridge High School (ORHS) graduating seniors: Oak Ridge Rotary Club Brad Sturm Memorial Scholarship/Essay Contest and the Rotary Club of Oak Ridge College Founders Scholarship. Scholarship information, including detailed descriptions and application instructions, for these and the other scholarships, are now available, http://www.etf.org/scholarships. The scholarship application must be completed and submitted online. The application deadline for 2021 is February 15, 2021.

 

 

 

Senior Information

 

Attention all ORHS seniors November 21st is the last day to transform the lot. If you would like to paint a parking spot, pick up an application from Ms.Sobek in room LC217 or a senior steering member. We can’t wait see all your amazing designs! (11/10-11/13) – D. Sobek

 

Seniors: If you do not sign the board for the senior signature shirt, please see Mrs. Ledden in CS347 Tuesday, November 17, and Thursday, November 19, to sign. We want the entire senior class to be on the shirt whether you choose to purchase a shirt or not. (11/12-11/13) – T. Ledden
