STUDENT INFO

 

It is time for AP exam registration! Payments will be accepted beginning October 26 – November 6 during lunch. Payments can be made in FULL or a with a $40.00 down payment to reserve the exam. Exams are $95 this year with the exception of Seminar and Research. The Seminar and Research exams are $143. If taking more than three exams, the 4th and subsequent exams will be $40/exam. Students qualifying for free and reduced lunch at the beginning of this school year have an exam price of $15.00. Please see Mr. Foust if unsure of free & reduced lunch status.

Due to uncertainty around the Covid-19 global pandemic, CollegeBoard will be waiving any fees for canceled or unused tests this year so exams can be ordered with confidence. Monies will be refunded for exams not taken.

As Red Ribbon Week comes to a close, the ASAP Youth Ambassadors want everyone to say I AM ONE who will Be Happy. Be Brave. Be Drug-Free.

 

Bored at lunch? Youth for Christ is discussing several short films from a series called, “Christianity Explored.” Youth for Christ is a student-led club that meets for lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays in LC330. ATHLETICS

Tickets for November 6th game, 1st round of play-off games, will go on sale in the Main Office at the High School on Monday, November 2 from 8:00 – 4:00 each day.   All tickets are $8.00.  Tickets will be on sale at The Ferrell Shop in Jackson Square Tuesday through Friday.

 

COUNSELING INFORMATION

 

UT Promise is a last-dollar, undergraduate scholarship that will guarantee free tuition and mandatory fees to qualifying Tennessee residents enrolling in an undergraduate degree at UT campuses in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Martin and Memphis.

This innovative scholarship will cover a student’s last-dollar amount of tuition and mandatory fees after other financial aid is applied (such as Pell grants, HOPE Scholarship or other institutional scholarships) to students who qualify for HOPE and whose family household income is under $50,000 a year. UT Promise is a student-success oriented scholarship program that requires students to complete volunteer service hours and meet with a volunteer mentor each semester to ensure a successful student experience.  Visit https://tennessee.edu/ut-promise/ for more information.  (T,F) – B. Virtual Vandy Fan program provides high school students with information about the selective college admissions process, insight into our financial aid and scholarship programs, and an opportunity to ask questions of our admissions and financial aid officers. The John M. Belk Scholarship, at Davidson College, recognizes powerful students with demonstrated academic excellence, integrity, intellectual curiosity, willingness to take risks, and potential to be change agents in both their local and global communities. If you are interested in being nominated this four-year scholarship, turn in a resume and personal statement as to why you would like to be nominated to Ms. Taylor by Friday, November 6th. Seniors:  steps for ordering your cap & gown online from Jostens. Go to https://www.jostens.com/.  Click shop High School. Locate Oak Ridge High School in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.  Click the Graduation link. Scroll near the bottom, and click Browse All Cap/Gown. Scroll near the bottom again, and click Browse All Cap & Gown Products. Scroll and find Individual Products. You will see the Cap & Gown unit for $31.  Or
