Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Ever try to write something by scratching words out instead of writing them down?  Take a page from a book or an article from a newspaper, for example, and start blacking out most of the words, leaving just a few.  That’s how you create blackout poetry.  Celebrate National Poetry Month by creating your very own blackout poem.  All poems are due by April 19 and will be judged by our Creative Writing students.  Come by the library for supplies and more details.  (M) – C. Milloway

Students are encouraged to complete the Tennessee Department of Education Climate Survey for ORHS .  The link to the survey can be found in your school email or at the message center in your Skyward account.  The deadline is Monday evening, April 8th. (M) – S. Thompson

Those applying for this year’s National Honor Society scholarship, please note the deadline for the application is actually Thursday, April 18th due to the holiday weekend. Application forms are available from Mr. Senter and are to be turned in to Mr. Feuer .(F) – K. Senter

Reminder that back packs are no longer allowed through the lunch line. Students should leave their back packs at their table or off to the side by the curved wall before entering the food service area. (F) – M. McDonald

Those Juniors who believe they have a 3.6 cumulative GPA (through 3rd term of this year), and who wish to be considered for membership in National Honor Society, must pick up and complete a Verification of Interest Form. The forms are available in the Library. Forms must be signed by students, parents, and teachers who can corroborate your participation in extracurricular activities. Return signed forms to the Library by 3:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10th. Be sure to fill out the forms quickly for a fast turnaround because no late forms can be accepted. (M) – K. Senter

Have you seen the new yearbook? If you would like to see the cover, stop by the Yearbook display case outside of CS328, and take a look!  The Oak Log staff is very proud of their work! (F) – B. Byrd
