Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Anyone wishing to take the Geometry test to qualify for the Tennessee State Math Exam should sign up with their Geometry teacher. The test will be given on Wednesday, 4/3/19, in the Amphitheater at 2pm.  The test is 40 minutes long. (W 4.3) – J. Zimprich

 

Petitions to run for Student Council officer and class officer positions for the 2019-2020 school year are due at the end of the day today. All election applications must be turned in by 3:15 to  Mrs. Wagner’s room, LC 331. Please stop by for more information if you are interested in these leadership positions. No exceptions to the deadline will be made. (F) – A. Wagner

 

Tryouts for the ORHS cheer team are quickly approaching! If you are interested in trying out for the team, clinics will be held April 8th, 9th, 11th, and 12th in the arena at 3:30 each day. Mu Alpha Theta Math Club will meet after school Friday, March 29 in Mrs. Mullins’ room, CS231 until 4 p.m.  The Club will be discussing the summer trip to Las Vegas for the National Mu Alpha Theta Convention and we will practice for the upcoming State TMTA Math Competition at Roane State on April 9.  Any student who is interested in joining this team of well-rounded mathematicians is welcome.  If you would just like to come and practice for the TMTA, you can come and work with us for the afternoon, without obligation to join the club. We always have refreshments to go with our problem-solving, so please join in!  (F) – K. Mullins

Attention seniors who are attending The University of Tennessee in the fall.  Please stop by the counselors’ office this week to pick up information that was dropped off for each of you.  Ms. Wendt has the information at her desk. (F) – L. Wendt

 

Convocation and graduation will be here before you know it! If you are interested in being a speaker at either graduation or convocation, please see Mrs. Flanders in CS 316 for speech guidelines and to sign up for tryouts. Tryouts will be Thursday, April 4 at 3:20 in room CS316 (Mrs. Flanders’ room). At that time, you will read your speech to a panel of judges made up of teachers and students, and the panel will select the speakers by vote.  Stop by soon to get the information. (M,W,F – 4.1) – G.
