Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Students who plan to take an AP Exam this spring must register via a Google Form found on the ORHS website.  The registration window will be open, Monday, February 25th through Wednesday, February 27th.  Students must either pay a deposit of $15 per exam or pay for all exams in full Friday, March 1st.  Only exams with a deposit or payment if full as of March 1st  will be ordered.  If students choose to pay by deposit, the balance will be due April 26th.  Students may drop off their payment in the main office before school, after school, or at lunch February 27-March 1st. Students may contact their AP teachers for additional information including the AP Exam Schedule. (M,W,F 2.22) – A. Roberts

COUNSELING INFO

 

There have been several new scholarships and summer programs added to the to the ORHS website.  Please take a moment to browse the page. (2/20, 2/22) – L. Wendt

 

The Anderson County Democratic Women’s Scholarship is offering a $500 award to a female student. If you would like to be considered for this scholarship, please attach a paragraph statement to your local scholarship form that states why you think you would be a good candidate for this scholarship. Please turn this to Ms. Wendt in the Counseling Office by March 1st, 2019. Stop by the Counseling Office if you have any questions.  (11/16-3/01 F) – A. Morris

 

Juniors: please remember to turn in your resume and short essay for contention as a Boys and Girls State delegate to Mrs. Rowland by this Friday.  (2/21-2/22) – K. Rowland

 

Rising Juniors and Seniors: Questbridge is a program that matches academically high-achieving students with low family income to some of the most prestigious colleges in our country. They are looking for students in the top 5-10% of their class who received mostly A’s in the most rigorous courses we offer with strong standardized test scores. Household income should be less than $65,000 per year. Successful applicants are usually first generation in their family to attend a U.S. college, possess strong personal character, and have leadership in community or school activities. See your counselor if you are interested in information on Questbridge. (2/21-2/22) – K. Rowland

 

The UNCF STEM Scholarship application is open. This scholarship awards $25,000 to 100 high school seniors that intend to pursue a STEM-focused degree in college. The deadline is March 3rd so apply soon!  General Eligibility: African American and a 3.0 GPA. Interested seniors, see Skyward Messages for more info! (2/21-3/4 MWF) – B. Ottinger
