Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

The Driving Center will be hosting two Driver Education Classes over Spring Intercession.  The first is March 11th and the second is March 18th.  Please check their website at thedrivingcenter.org for information and registration (Tu, Th – 3.7) – T. Seals

 

If you are interested in attending this year’s Introduce a Girl to Engineering program at Y-12, stop by student services to pick up a permission form. The trip is Thursday, February 21, from 8:30 to 12:00. Return your permission form to student services by February 19. Space is limited and you must be in good standing to attend. Students registered to take the AMC 10B or the AMC 12B exam on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 will need to report to LC-327 by 7:40 am.  Please bring #2 pencils. You will be allowed to use protractors, rulers, graph, or scratch paper.  No calculators, cell phones, or electronics will be allowed during testing. Your math teachers have the list of those students that have registered.  Attendance will be taken. (2/8-2/12) – J. Zimprich

Valentine’s Day is coming up and Senior Steering is selling carnations!~ Buy them for your friends. You can buy one for $2 or 4 for $5.  (W) – E. Hondorf

 

COUNSELING INFO

 

JUNIORS: There will a very important informational meeting for the Boys and Girls State programs next Tuesday, February 12th at 3:15 in the College & Career Room in the Counseling office. These programs are exceptional programs to attend and each state has their own version so colleges are very aware of the leadership, citizenship and civics education you will receive at these programs. Criteria includes: high moral character, leadership, academic excellence, interest in government, community participation, show respect for God and country and be willing to pledge allegiance to the American flag and you must be able to stay for the duration of the week.

Boys State will be at Tennessee Tech University Sunday, May 19th-Saturday, May 25th and Girls State is held at Lipscomb University in Nashville on Sunday, May 26th –Saturday, June 1st.

East Tennessee Foundation (ETF) is happy to announce that ETF 2019 Scholarship Applications will be available on our website, www.etf.org/scholarships, beginning November 1, 2018.  All ETF scholarship applications must be completed and submitted online. The application deadline for 2019 scholarships is February 15, 2019. (Tu – 2.15)  A. Morris

 

Attention 10th grade students planning to enroll in Middle College: There is a Steven L. Coffey Memorial Middle College Scholarship for Anderson County students. Applications are available from March 15 – May 12, 2019.
