2019 Track & Field Parent/Athlete meeting will be Thursday January 10th  6pm to 7pm  in the ORHS amphitheater for current and potential runners. (M, W 1.10) T. Sauer

Winter Formal is coming! Student Council will be hosting its first ever Winter Formal on February 2nd from 7 to 10 p.m.! If you would like to nominate yourself or somebody else for the Snow Court, then please stop by Mrs. Wagner’s class (LC331) to fill out a short form. These nominations are due by January 18th! There will be a boy and a girl from each grade on the court. Tickets are $15, and will be sold 2 weeks before the dance in the arena kiosk and top of the cafeteria. All proceeds will go towards money for the Second Harvest Food Bank. Get your semi-formal to formal attire ready!  (1/9-1/18 WF) – A. Wagner

 

CLUB INFO

 

India Food? Yes, we should have some at our next meeting! The International Relations Club will be representing India at Model United Nations VolMUN IV Conference coming up in February at the UT. Please join us this Thursday (1/10/18) in room LC327 from 3:10 pm to 4:10 pm.  This is an exciting time as we prepare for the Model UN with the goal of promoting awareness of global issues and international relations through friendly but highly exciting policy debates and negotiations. This competitive conference is a great opportunity to engage in problem-solving skills, conflict resolution, research, communication, plus get a chance to meet new people from different schools across the area. Attention seniors!  If your college requires you to submit a midyear transcript, you must submit a transcript request form in the School Counseling Office. Please have these turned in by Friday, January 11th if possible. (1/9-1/11) – B. Ottinger

The University of Georgia is now accepting applications for the 2019 VetCAMP, which is scheduled for June 16-22. This program is offered to rising high school juniors and seniors and rising college freshman to evaluate their skills and competitiveness as future veterinarians, provide mentorship and help them experience veterinary medicine as an exciting career path. It’s a great experience and the students have a lot of fun while also learning about the profession. If you’re interested, stop by the Counseling Office for more info or visit the ORHS Counseling scholarships page. Deadline to apply is January 25th. (W -12.12 – 1.23) – A. Morris

A representative from Yale University’s admissions department will meet with students in the Counseling Office this Thursday, January 10th, during lunch. If interested, please plan to attend. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Morris in the Counseling Office. (1/8-1/10) – A. Morris
