STUDENT INFO

We’ve had the Full Harvest Moon and now the Full Hunter’s Moon. Come hunt up some academic success with free NHS tutoring from Batu Odbadrakh and Abby Gerlock from 3:15 to 3:50 in the Counseling Center on Tuesday. (M) – K. Senter

 

For the next two weeks, students who have been assigned to Closed Campus in the B-Gym, will be meeting in WC131, Coach Sampson’s class.  Students are expected to be on time.  ((M) – C. Wilson

 

CLUB INFO

The FBLA Club will have their next meeting on Tuesday, October 30th  at 7:15 a.m.  Snacks will be served.  Please turn in your applications with your $10 dues at that time.  The club will meet in Ms. Stalliard’s room CS 345. (M) – C. Stalliard

 

Can people disagree with one another without resorting to ad hominem attack, to name-calling, to appeals to fear? Come find out at the organizational meeting for the new Debate Club. Seniors: place your order for the senior signature shirts and sweats during lunch in the Concessions’ Kiosk at the Wildcat Arena this week during lunch, October 29-November 2. You may also give Mrs. Ledden your order in CS347. Checks should be made payable to ORHS. (M,Tu,Th,F) – T. Ledden

 

Seniors and Parents: our second and final FAFSA completion night is Tuesday, October 30th from 5:00-7:00 off the Library Media Center.   Parents will need to bring their 2017 incomes tax returns and other documents regarding finances for 2017 that are applicable (child support received, SS) and you are encouraged to bring your senior and their laptop to the session. Seniors, Nov 1st is the absolute deadline for applying for the TNPromise scholarship.  Apply at www.tnpromise.gov       (Th) – B. Ottinger

 

Seniors, he counseling office has copies of the book A Capitalist Manifesto available for students who are applying for the Brad Sturm Memorial Scholarship.  Books are available on a first come first serve basis so see Ms. Morris ASAP for your copy if you are applying for this scholarship. Seniors: This coming Tuesday, October 30th is your ACT Senior Re-take test. Testing locations are posted around campus so please double check to make sure your name is on a roster and where your testing room is for Tuesday. Be at your testing room NO LATER THAN 7:45 Tuesday morning with your school ID or driver’s license, an ACT-approved calculator (TI-89 is NOT approved for this test), #2 non-mechanical pencils and a snack for break (optional). Do NOT bring your cell phone, smart watches, watches with alarms, fitness bands or other electronic devices into the testing room PER ACT! You will be dismissed to go home for the remainder of the day after testing has been completed for all rooms (except those with extended time).  Students with testing accommodations over multiple days will have their schedules given to them.  (M) – K. East Tennessee Foundation (ETF) is happy to announce that there are two scholarship opportunities solely for Oak Ridge High School (ORHS) graduating seniors: Oak Ridge Rotary Club Brad Sturm Memorial Scholarship/Essay Contest and the Rotary Club of Oak Ridge College Founders Scholarship.

 

Scholarship information, including detailed descriptions and application instructions, as well as 2019 applications, will be available on our website, www.etf.org/scholarships, beginning November 1, 2018.
