Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

 

Please do not park on the yellow lined “field” on the food court/front of school parking lot. It is located on the side closest to the turnpike. This is the WildBand practice field on campus. Thanks!  – M. Hughey (Tu,Th)

 

Any students interested in taking the ASVAB CEP test on Friday, September 28th please come and sign up in either Student Services or Guidance.  Please remember if any student has already taken the ASVAB test and sworn an oath of allegiance to a military service, they would be ineligible to test.  To help explain the ASVAB Career Exploration Program and its benefits,  there is a 70 second video on the homepage of the website, www.asvabprogram.com.  There are digital resources in the library that can help you prepare for this test.  Please see Ms. Milloway in the library if you are interested in these resources.   (9.11 &  9.18)  C.Wilson

 

Anyone that is interested in taking the AMC 10 or AMC 12 test in February will need to bring in $2.00 for registration and sign up with their Math teacher.  Registration will end September 26.  (9/17-9/21) –

Students with the Temporary Athletic Passes may bring their temporary pass and pick-up their replacement pass in the Main Office.

30+ Club members can also pick up their replacement Activity Pass from the Main Office.  You must bring in your temporary pass to exchange also.  (9/18-9/20) – T. Seals

SENIOR SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST:  Please submit your designs for the Class of 2019 Senior Shirt to Mrs. Ledden in Room CS347 by tomorrow, Wednesday, September 19.  (9/18) – T. Ledden

 

 

COUNSELING INFO

 

An admissions representative from Case Western Reserve University will visit with interested students in the Counseling Office during lunch on Thursday. If interested, please plan to attend. (9/14-9/19) A. Morris

 

A representative from Northwestern University will visit with interested students in the Counseling Office during lunch on Friday, September 21st. If interested, please plan to attend.(9.17-20) A. Morris

 

Tutor Doctor of Knoxville is hosting a FREE full-length practice ACT test on Saturday, October 13th at Pellissippi State Hardin Valley campus from 9:00 a.m-1:00 p.m. You have to register to participate and space is limited. Priority will go to seniors, then juniors, etc. If interested in this very nice opportunity, email Mrs. Rowland at ksrowland@ortn.edu by  this Friday and she can send the link to you for registration.

This is a great opportunity to get a full-length practice test in before the real one at the end of October that seniors will take on October 30th at school.  (9/18-9/19) – K. Rowland

ATHLETICS THIS WEEK

 

Wednesday is Senior night for Oak Ridge Volleyball!  It’s also Student Night!  All students get in for free with their ID plus get a free t-shirt!  So come on down to Wildcat Arena on Wednesday to support your favorite volleyball girls!  JV at 5 and the Senior night festivities and Varsity match right afterward.  Go Cats!
