Oak Ridge High School Daily Bulletin

STUDENT INFO

Attn Students: Tuesday, April 3rd is the ACT state testing day. Juniors will be taking the ACT. Sophomores will be taking a mandatory practice ACT test. Freshmen will be taking a mandatory pre-ACT test. Students need to arrive to their testing locations by 7:45. You must have your student ID, an ACT-approved calculator, and several number two pencils. Cell phones are not allowed during testing, so please leave them at home. All students will be dismissed at 12:30 following testing. Lunch will be served, and buses will run at 12:30. Seniors are excused from school on Tuesday, April 3rd. (4/2) – B. Estep

Students who have been invited to join La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica should remember to bring the $15.00 dues to Mrs. Ferguson by Tuesday, April 3. Please see Mrs. Ferguson in CS 301 if you have questions. (3/29, 4/2) – L. Ferguson

Join the AP Micro review group on Tuesdays during lunch and after school to improve your score on the  AP Exam.  Mrs. Bauman has created tons of resources for you to use in your study times.  If you took Micro during the Fall Semester, and cannot attend these times, see the Grand Puba to get materials or appointments for differing days.

 

Macroeconomics Reviews are on Thursdays during lunch and after school.  Join our awesome group of AP Scholars and work on scoring the 5 on your Macro exam.  Remember that your name will live on in the ceiling for all to see for years to come. (4/2-4/3) – B. Bauman

Get help with test prep at free NHS tutoring from  Olivia Mahathy and Victoria Wilson from 3:15 to 3:50 in the Counselling Center. (4/2- 4/3) – K. Senter

The City Youth Advisory Board is hosting a free Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday, April 7th at the Civic Center starting at 5pm.  Teams of 6-10 players will compete in this fun, annual event.  There are no co-ed rules this year to make signing up easier.  Forms are available in Student Affairs.  Please visit www.eventbrite.com to register or email Matt Reedy at mreedy@oakridgetn.gov .  Please register by April 5th so that we can create the event schedule.  (4/2 – 4/4) – C. Any Geometry student interested in taking the Geometry run off test should come to the Amphitheatre Wednesday, April 4th, by 2:00.  The test will last less than an hour.  Top 12 scorers will qualify for the Tennessee State Math exam on April 10th.  Bring your pencil and TI-84 calculator. Seniors: Graduation supplies will be delivered on Thursday, April 5, during lunch. You may pick up your supplies in room CS347 (Mrs. Ledden’s classroom). However, you will only be able to pick up your supplies if your balance owed is paid in full. You may bring payment on that day or pay Jostens before April 5. Seniors: Each year, members of the Senior Class speak at Convocation and Commencement. Tryouts for these Senior Speeches are held on one day.  Make-ups are not available. This year, tryouts will be held on Thursday, April 5, at 3:15 in CS336. If you think you may be interested in trying out, see Ms. Sasser in CS336 for additional information.
