We are excited to announce that Oak Ridge High School will be visited by an external review team from AdvancED on December 14th and 15th.  This two day process will focus on 11 STEM standards as the school is seeking to receive certification as a STEM school.  This designation is distinct because most schools seek STEM programs, but ORHS has decided to include everyone in this process through a focus on the 4 C’s which are Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, and Critical Thinking.  If we receive this certification we will be one of the first, if not the first, public high school in the United States to achieve this as an entire school rather than a program.  We are extremely excited for this visit as all other schools in the district have already navigated this process.  If certified, Oak Ridge Schools will be the first district in the state of Tennessee to have all schools STEM certified by AdvancED.
