Hello! Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at Oak Ridge Schools’ Preschool! I am so excited to have the opportunity to get to know you and your child this year!
I am Lisa Downard, and I am the Principal for the Preschool this year. I am so very excited to be here.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I have lived in Oak Ridge with my husband, Brian, and son, Cale, for 13 years now. We moved here from Canton, Ohio. I have had great experiences in the field of education prior to coming to the Preschool. My background is in Special Education, in which I taught students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. I have also worked as a Literacy Lead Teacher as well as a 5th grade and 3rd grade classroom teacher.
Most recently, I was the Assistant Principal at Linden Elementary School here in Oak Ridge City Schools.
I can’t express how excited I am about my role as Principal at the Preschool. The students are amazing and our Preschool program is second to none!
