Extended Child Care
ECC is our on site child care for families needing students to arrive before the official school day begins and/or to stay after the official school day is over. For a minimal monthly fee students may arrive as early as 6:30 a.m. and stay as late as 6:00 p.m. Willow Brook ECC is under the direction of Mary Woods. Ms. Woods and staff create a fun and exciting environment for our before and after school hour bears. ECC follows the ORS calendar. If school is closed, ECC will also be closed. If school is closed during the day, ECC will not be opening. If you would like to take advantage of ECC, contact Ms. Woods at 425-3204.
Safety Patrol
AAA School Safety Patrol membership is a position of honor. Millions of boys and girls served since the nationwide movement started in the early 1920s. Here at Willow Brook, fourth grade students have the opportunity to serve as a a Safety Patrol. Third grade classroom teachers will nominate students that exhibit leadership and responsibility skills. The students are then placed on a patrol for their fourth grade year. In the morning, safety patrols have a number of duties which include raising the flag, assisting in the cafeteria and gym, and keeping an eye on the students to make sure that rules are followed. On the afternoon patrol, they assist with all aspects of dismissal, making sure that the students remain safe.
As a reward to the safety patrols for their hours of service, AAA organizes a yearly trip to Washington D.C.
If you have any questions about Willow Brook’s Safety Patrol, or would like to help with a fundraiser activity, please email Michelle Goethert at mgoethert@ortn.edu.
Patrol Members Pledge:
I promise to do my best to…
- Report to duty on time.
- Perform my duties faithfully.
- Obey my teachers and officers of the patrol.
- Report dangerous student practices.
- Strive to earn the respect of my fellow students.
Ski Club
Since the late 1990s, Willow Brook has had a ski club. Students desiring to learn how to ski may join the club. The club partners with Ober Gatlinburg and participates in their Learn To Ski Program. The club skis on Sunday mornings throughout the winter. Music teacher, Michelle Goethert, sponsors the WB ski club. Anyone interested in the club should contact Mrs. Goethert at 425-3201. By learning ski skills at a young age, students can enjoy a lifetime of fun on the slopes!
