The TN Science Teachers Association proudly announced the 2022 Science Educators of the Year at their fall conference. This award recognizes leadership roles in promoting science and outstanding contributions to science education that positively impact the community.

This year’s winner for grades K-4 is Lisa Buckner, fourth grade teacher and STEM coach at Linden Elementary School. Her teaching philosophy is to instill a passion and appetite for learning in all subjects, and she creates science experiences that allow students to interact with their world while gaining knowledge. Buckner has served in many leadership roles and has advanced science education through grants, STEM certifications, and organizing special trips and events for students.

The TN Science Teachers Association is quite pleased to name Lisa Buckner the TSTA Science Educator of the Year for Grades K-4.
