Mary Katherine Chin is receiving the East TN Regional Art Educator of the Year award at the Tennessee Art Educator Association’s  October conference in Memphis.  In addition to her amazing work as a visual arts educator, Mary Katherine has served on the board of the Tennessee Art Education Association since January 2011, serving as the editor and communications chair.  She has managed newsletters, blogs, social media accounts, and the TAEA website, as well as helping with online registration for the annual conference.  In addition to her volunteer work with TAEA, she’s also an elected board member and secretary of the Arts Council of Oak Ridge and has served as a workshop presenter for the Dogwood Arts organization where she shares her gifts of sidewalk chalk drawings with hundreds of participants yearly.  We are so proud of you, Mrs. Chin!
