We would first like to thank our families for their patience as we navigate these unprecedented times. Our administrative team has been working with district stakeholders to continuously review local data and recommendations to make the best decisions possible for our students and staff. In an effort to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 and create a safe environment for students and staff, we will welcome students back to school on Thursday, July 30th for a full day, utilizing the staggered schedule below.

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Students with
last name A-L

Students with
last name M-Z
(In person)
NO STUDENTS
In Building
Students with

Students with

  • Our administrative and counseling team have balanced class rosters alphabetically by last name: A-L and M-Z in grades 5-8.
    • This balance does not include ConnectOR students who have been removed from rosters.
    • Our goal is to keep class sizes at 15 students or less.
    • Consideration of blended families who have students with different last names will be made to ensure that students attend school on similar days, at the request of the parent/guardian.
  • This staggered approach increases student and staff safety due to smaller numbers to social distance in classrooms, communal spaces, hallways, lunch, chorus, band, PE, etc.
  • First Student Transportation will not be affected by this staggered schedule. It will also decrease the number of students on the bus daily.
  • Last names A-L will attend school in-person on Monday and Thursday. These same students will be virtual learners on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • Last names M-Z will attend school in-person on Tuesday and Friday. These same students will be virtual learners on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
  • Attendance will be taken daily (in person or virtual)
    • In person attendance will be taken traditionally.
    • Virtual attendance will be taken through a check-in assignment that will be posted in Canvas.
  • Wednesday will be a virtual learning day for all students, A-Z. During this time, the building will undergo a deep cleaning.
  • The CDC teacher will contact parents to create a schedule that best serves each individual student.
  • Students will follow their regular schedule when they return to the building. This will allow for more individual attention for each student while in the building.
  • Teachers will provide a blended learning approach, utilizing Canvas, to ensure the transition from in-person to virtual learning is seamless.
  • Due to possible modifications to the schedules to help with balance of students, schedules will not be released until Tuesday, July 28 at 4:00pm.
