Scot Smith, the librarian at Robertsville Middle School, has been selected to serve on the Teacher Advisory Council for the National Humanities Center. His term will run from August 1, 2018 until July 31, 2019. The Teacher Advisory Council of the NHC consists of a committee of fourteen educators and works to build a deeper understanding of the best practices in teaching and learning of the Humanities in K-16 classrooms. The council’s goals for the upcoming year include curriculum design, teacher agency, and the use of innovative technologies. Smith will travel to Durham, North Carolina in October for training and will attend numerous online webinars throughout the year to collaborate with other educators from the United States.
