OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – Oak Ridge Schools is currently accepting Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-26 school year and is excited to welcome incoming Kindergarten families to upcoming Kindergarten Events.

  • Glenwood:
    • April 30 – Kindergarten Parent Workshop at Glenwood for future Glenwood students and families – 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.
    • May 14 – ORS Preschool visit to Glenwood
  • Linden:
    • May 12 – ORS Preschool visit to Linden
    • May 22 – Kindergarten Parent Workshop at Linden for future Linden students and families – 5:30 p.m.
  • Willow Brook:
    • May 13 – ORS Preschool Visit to Willow Brook
    • May 13 – Kindergarten Parent Workshop at Willow Brook for future Willow Brook students and families – 5:30 p.m.
  • Woodland:
    • May 7 – ORS Preschool visit to Woodland
    • May 7 – Kindergarten Parent Workshop at Woodland for future Woodland students and families – 5p.m.
Registration Details
Online registration is now open and available at www.ortn.edu/kindergarten.  Kiosks will be available in the lobby of each elementary school to facilitate the online registration process for families without access to a computer or smart device with internet access. If necessary, please contact your zoned elementary school to schedule a time to register by kiosk.
As part of the online registration process, parents/guardians will be asked to upload images of the following documents:
  • Birth Certificate
  • Immunization Form
  • Parent Photo ID
  • Two forms of Proof of Residency – For more information on acceptable forms of Proof of Residency, please visit our registration page.
According to Tennessee State Law, children must reach their fifth birthday by August 15 to be eligible for kindergarten. A child who turns five after August 15, and before September 30, may be considered for early kindergarten enrollment on a case-by-case basis.  Kindergarten Schedule
  • Kindergarteners will have two days of assessments and orientation prior to starting school full-time. One of those days will be a half-day July 28-30, and one will be a full day August 1-5. Assessment days will be assigned according to last name once Kindergarten Registration is complete. Families will be notified by their school.
  • A full-time schedule will begin for Kindergarteners with all students attending on Wednesday, August 6. This will follow a normal Wednesday schedule, dismissing at 1:30.
  • Thursday, August 7, will be a full day with normal dismissal time of 3:30.
  • Bus transportation for Kindergarteners will begin on Monday, July 28.
