On an overcast Friday morning, 30 cadets from the Oak Ridge High School Navy JROTC Wildcat Company set out for Fulton High School to defend their Knox County NJROTC League Athletic Championship.  Cadets, led by Cadet Commanding Officer Rhiannon Lucas, were ready to go head-to-head with NJROTC cadets from Central, Fulton, Bearden and West High Schools in a variety of athletic events.

Neither wind nor torrential downpours could slow down the determined Wildcats.  In the end, it was Oak Ridge hoisting the Championship trophy once again. Oak Ridge NJROTC has been the only other school since 2002 other than Farragut or West High Schools to win this trophy.  This is only the second year of the NJROTC program at Oak Ridge, and the Wildcat Company has claimed this title both years.  All cadets who participated gave their very best and all displayed exceptional sportsmanship by cheering on not only their teammates, but competitors from other schools.  To learn more about the Oak Ridge High School NJROTC Wildcat Company, visit our website orhsnjrotc.org.
